It really was a surreal noise for me, I never heard that sound ever before in this game.
It's a little funny in retrospect. I stopped dead in my tracks to locate where this noise was because it was so distinct compared to all the other noises. Thought it might be a quest, but couldn't find the damn owl making the noise, so I followed my ears and found a tree where it sounds the clearest. I sat there trying to spot the owl and got really irritated.
Yeah, I also have seen the Mummer girl holding a book through her head and I dived through the air onto a bridge while making a splashing sound.

I still like the game tho, just notice the flaws...Actually I never played hearts of stone. I only beat the game once and that took about 100+ hours, I played 70 hours this week after having a spur of the moment impulse to play it again.
I didn't want to play the game again because it takes so damn long to do everything in Velen and Novigrad. I just end up feeling so burned out that when I finally did beat it I was bored.
