So what exaclty do you lose when you die?

I know that you lose approximately 1000 crowns if you die to guards or witch hunters but I mean a griffin won't be interested in your wealth so is the any loss you take when you die to monsters?

You have to reload your save, so do it often.

Also, if you're fighting guards, you've probably screwed up somehow. Don't steal things in their line of sight.

Ah so you just have to start over from where you've last saved. And yeah I once wanted to try out the regen mutagen from BaW where you get a giant quen sign and regain 100% vit when you die but I forgot to equip it after unlocking it ^^

It takes a long time to load a save in this game (even with a SSD), so that's your punishment for dying.

Yeah, when you lose 1000 crowns to the guards it is not because they killed you, it is because they beat your butt and left you unconcious on the ground and stole your 1000 crowns. When you die in the game you have to reload.
