Question about "A Midnight Clear" (Hearts of Stone SPOILERS)
How do I not trigger that quest? No matter what I do, it always ends up triggering at the end of "Dead Man's Party". And Geralt ends up kissing Shani no matter what I say or even if I bring her the wrong gift. My Geralt is no cheater, but I don't want a failed quest in my journal either (which happens if you just ignore her and leave). So how exactly do I prevent this quest from starting?

That's not the point. This is a role-playing game, I want to role-play in a consistent manner without something of the sort being forced at me.

Geralt had amnesia in the previous two games. He didn't know Yennefer was alive either. And I didn't exactly role-play Geralt as being committed to anyone in the previous two games, I turned down Triss at every chance I got (seriously, screw her).

Looks like I have no choice but to end it on the kiss then. Bad game design if you ask me.

Books are books, games are games :)

Besides, they had Geralt "start fresh" in the games for a reason. Wouldn't be much of an RPG otherwise.
