Steam's big picture controller support causes conflict with witcher 3 native controller support, therefore if big picture's controller support (or any other 3rd party controller support) is active on your system, witcher 3 will have problems recognizing your controller.
Beautiful! Thanks, dude
Hi, after having un-checked all the options in the big picture mode, steam is still recognizing my ds4 as the button prompts in the big picture modes are the ones of ps4. Hence, when I start witcher 3 it still shows xbox prompts, any fix? Thx!
Only workaround that i'm aware now is to bypass the steam client. Go into the game folder find the .exe file (it's located in bin>x64 > Witcher 3.exe launch the game through that and it will work properly.
You need to open the game in the steam app (NOT BIG PICTURE) make sure that you have reconnected your controller, so steam does not recognise your controller.
Or connect your controller while your in the game.
Than I don't know either.
That works perfectly! Thanks so much!
I did that, but, I get double prompts for keyboard icons every few seconds.
right now the biggest issue people are having is the steam client, if you bypass the steam client by launching the game directly through the .exe file found in the game folder, the steam client has no way to interact with the game, therefore (assuming no other 3rd party controller suports are present) the game should do its job well.
