Problem with Crashes in the first scene playing Ciri

Hi guys, hope someone experienced this too: In the first Chapter of Ciris Story (The Wolveking or smth like this) i experience a crash of the game, as soon as i start looking around. The game worked perfectly up until this point.

My System:

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Intel i5 6500 @3,2 GHz
8GB RAM (Kingston HyperX)

All drivers are up to date.

If someone's got information about this bug i would really appreciate his/her help, as the Steam Support was not really helpful to me x/

Yeah, already tried that. It said "finished", i tried, and still the same bug.

I'm going to assume that you never installed any mods (i should have asked that first come to think of it) - if you did installed any mods at any point, make sure to remove those mods from the mod folder (the mods do not get deleted with verify game integrity).

Also, do you mean that the crash happens as soon as the cutscene ends and you get control of ciri? or does it happens as you move around after the cutscene ended? And is it just a CTD with no error?
Also did the game generate any crash dump? i believe they should be located in the game folder.

Do you have MSI afterburner running in the background? or geforce experience, or chrome, a while back people were reporting that due to bad nvidia drivers those programs were causing witcher 3 to crash at specific points in the game. (i don't believe this could be the issue since your drivers are up to date, but worth checking anyway).

You are right, i never installed any Mods. The crash happens as soon as i get control of Ciri (When i move my camera). The game crashes without any Error, i'll look up the Crash Dump tomorrow. MSI Afterburner is running, GeForce Experience too. Thank you anyway for your answer, ill shutdown Afterburner and Experience, and will report soon.

My guess would be that a graphical effect specific to that chapter of gameplay is crashing you to desktop, especially if you are fortunate enough to be able to repeat the crash at will. (I say fortunate because my crashes are all intermittent and unpredictable.. ugh.)

Assuming no filesystem issues, such as those corrected by scandisk or whatever the tools of today are, I would start by changing graphics options in the game. Painful as it is, you might end up changing things one at a time until you find the culprit, since that particular setting may well crash every time you control Ciri. Under the options menu, there are a number of toggles for postprocessing and graphics which I'd run through.

The presets for low, medium, and high might save you some time, too.

Yeah, a new game works fine. Ill try playing to the point mentioned above. If the crash happens again ill try out what orthostatic said. Thank you all for the help, ill report back soon!

Ok guys, seems like i found an answer: The Nvidia Streaming Service, a part of GeForce Experience caused the crashes. Didnt even need to shut down the whole program, just this one service, and the game runs just fine! Thank all of you for your help and your tips :)

Found my issue in a mod. The improved particle Systems mod will crash when I first started using Ciri.

Fix: Use the NoShaders version if using this mod from Nexus
