Best place to sell hides?
A lot of people said the guy in the novigrad docs but he doesn't pay much and inn keepers which also don't pay a lot. Does anyone know a good spot to sell hides? (possibly full price?)

No one will buy full price. Novigrad has the highest selling prices so sell them there, really any merchant will do.

Sell to anyone. Doesn't really matter. Easy to get a gold surplus either way.

I see people say this a lot, but i'm level 30 and have been constantly out of money. Maybe it's because I keep buying white gull ingredients to craft all of the potions and crafting all of the witcher gear, but surely that's a relatively common thing to do.

No, its not. There's generally no reason to be crafting all the witcher gear, unless you plan on getting all of them, which is a hideously expensive endeavor.

there's a merchant who sells bottles west of St. Gregory's Bridge in Novigrad. He buys full amount. Just buy his bottles if he don't have enough money. Just exit, go to conversation again and he has another bottle to sell again. Sell bottles to loan shark in novigrad as he is the riches buyer of bottles.

bit of a necro.

i tend to sell hides to any merchant who will buy them.
what does seriously pisss me though is the loot table percentage to skin a hide from an animal kill.
i mean,, wtf... youre lucky to get 2 wolf hides from a pack of 12. If youre Lucky..
all these beautiful, fine lookin wolves, dead on the ground. cant take their pelts...
i started to feel bad for a while for hunting wovles, and deer and bears for that matter, because the loot percent to get a pelt is just way too f'in low...

(resorts to using a mod so all animals have pelts in their inventory)

O.O

Yes, the more you spend, the less you'll have. The trick is to loot everything that isn't nailed down, swap out stuff you need for what you have and sell the rest. Never waste money on alcohol since you can find that in abundance simply by looting. Same goes for food and water.

A lot of people also waste a great deal of money by dismantling everything they find. Never, ever do that unless you absolutely require a particular ingredient or material that the vendor does not have at the moment. Wait, keep looting and you will most likely find it for free too. If not, then just dismantle what you need, when you need it. Dismantling costs a lot of money.

Another mistake people make is to buy gear, weapons or diagrams from vendors. Don''. You'll find most of that for free by looting. Again, repairs. You need to repair your gear when it degrades in order to be at maximum efficiency in combat but consider the quality of your gear first. If it is common, don't bother. It will degrade again quickly during the next combat session. Try to limit repairs to the best quality gear you are using. And looting here again plays a part. You can find plenty of free weapon and armor repair kits to do the job yourself for free or even buy these kits from vendors and it will be cheaper than paying the craftsmen to do it for you.

And a lot of recipes can be found for free by looting too. The devs took great pains to ensure that players couldn't farm monsters for materials or money. They didn't want players to approach the game that way. They messed up in that it was their intention that Geralt was always meant to be rather poor as it would be in keeping with the lore. The reality is, even without farming, the player ends up having far more money than they'll need throughout the game (even with the demands of the two paid expansions) simply by looting everything that isn't nailed down tight and being frugal about how they manage their money.

THIS. Never dismantle. LOOT everything and everyone.
Actually don't mind spending coin at blacksmiths getting all my worn gear repaired. Save the kits for in the field.:steamhappy:
SKELLIGE.

Hides sell for 45-47 p/p
**Playing in 2021/2022.

Pre Skellige - Novigrad Innkeep (Usually has about 2k+ coins)

Ya'll all wrong. 43 to start for cow hides and bear stuff at Novigrad, at the Innkeep, bald guy with nice purple/blue looking clothes.

Then after you sacrifice him for the 2 mages you help Triss save,
He'll wind up gone, replaced with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ merchant which sells for about 37.

Then move to Skellige, hides sell for 45 if i remember.

You're welcome.

People People People, TOUSSAINT is where you want to go.

47 per hide. Also the grandmaster crafter is where you want to sell weapons/armor for the most money.

Sell in TOUSSAINT

Grandmaster crafter for BOTH weapons and armor? I thought weapons should go to blacksmiths in particular
