Triss / Rose of Remembrance

Hey guys, question, back in Witcher 2, when Philipa uses the Rose of Remembrance to mind control Saskia, has it ever been stated as canon that Triss intended to do the same thing to Geralt with the Rose of Remembrance and mind control him so he wouldn't go back to Yennefer, or was she intending to use the Rose with a different spell / potion / etc.?

I do not know if it is stated or not, but she used magic to influence Geralt's mind during his amnesia. She could have helped him recover much faster but she didn't because she was probably jealous. She manipulated him, and that is fact. Does she love him? Yeah, probably. But still she manipulated you even tho she knowed about you and Yen. I also understand why many people choose her in Witcher 3. She is just too cute in those quests while there are moments when Yen is kind of portrayed as heartless. But that doesn't change the fact that she loves you in her own way. So basically in two of my playtroughs i chose Yen. Just couldn't go for Triss even tho I played past games.

And also as far as I remember, in Witcher 2 it is stated that legends say that rose of remembrance won't wilt if legends are true. Yet in her house in Witcher 3 you can find rose and it is withered. So you can also take that into consideration. Hope I helped.

The game throws Triss at you first before you have the option with Yen. That's mainly why people choose her.

Roses of remembrance:

Wither 2- Triss tells Geralt the legend of Eldan and Cymoril which states that the roses will wilt unless they are nourished with blood or if they are sold. If one gives the flower to someone they love, rose\s will live forever...... unless love is gone....

Witcher 3- Geralt found dried rose..... which show to us that "love" is gone...

The rose is Geralts doing, after he recovers his memory by himself.

First of all, I'm not sure exactly what canon confirmation you are seeking since the games, all three of them, are not considered canon. The only thing that is canon are the books.
...

This is a forum about the games and I never read or heard in a witcher game, that the games are under the canon or commandments of the books.

Both (books and games) play in the same universe with Geralt as the central person.
If games, film or books did left something out, you can use the other sources to fill it.

Back to the main theme:
After I ended with chains in my first playthrough I really had to think some time which romace I should prefer in NG+. It's really cool to have 2 interesting chars. I choosed Triss.
It's not only what the girls say and how they look, I also prefer the German voice of Triss (much better than the English voice).
