Roach is the worst thing in-game
Seriously, the steering and stuck-on-a-pebble status is cancer incarnate

You don't steer the horse. You get to a path you want to follow and hold the dash button and the horse does pretty much all the navigating for you.

Stop fighting the AI and its a ton easier to use.

When the game first came out, in the middle of a race, the horse would suddenly stop for no reason, when approaching a bridge, would stop dead in its tracks where the bridge began like it hit a wall and it would also see the tiniest of fences as the largest obstacle it had ever seen and get befuddled.

You mean, it actualy acted like a real horse? :D
Yesterday I was stuck where Roach for whatever reason refused to cross a very small bridge (3 meters long). I had to get down and walk across and then call him over to the other side. He is that stupid.

She. According to the books, Roach is allways a mare.
And yes, horses are not the smartest animals on earth. They - acording to some riders I know - are also very fond of being afraid of pretty much every thing and anything. Including inanimate objects they have seen a hundred times before. So you can't expect too much from an AI horse...

I hope you have a decent blinder. They often come as loot and merchants sell them.

How do I shoot auto-travel web?

Forget the stupid horse exists.

When building an open world game with horse travel as the players primary means of getting around, one should always just copy rockstar's horse AI in Red Dead Redemption.

I can't agree with you. The most annoying thing in game is Collect 'em All quest. Especially when you complete all gwent related quests and collect all unique cards from Novigrad, Skellige etc. And then you have to collect 30+ other cards from smiths, merchants etc. The amount of gwent games you have to complete is nuts. Such an annoying quest.

I just think of Roach as a magical horse with no personality. Thats how he appears out of nowhere. He like my Guenhwyvar.

Yes but at least wrecking smug merchants in gwent is rewarding.

Ha ha you think it's just random chance that happens? You're all naive my friends. The vulgar truth of it may shock you. I can't describe it in words. Too disgusting. See for yourself:
