Keybinding configuration bug?

I can't keybind in this game. I can only bind mouse buttons(left and right click). This has lead me to not be able to move to the left (I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up D:), playing like this is annoying as hell. For some reason the game doesn't let me bind keyboard keys to basic things such as movement, throwing bombs etc. And I don't even see the "restore to basic configuration" option.
I would appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

PD: No, i'm not switching to a gamepad.

I've just bought and had the same issue, I can't find any info so I've put in for refund, half my ♥♥♥♥ is unbound or bound to right click now from trying to get out of the menu. It's not like it's a mega new game, issues like this shouldn't be happening.

I do, but the drivers of the controller are not activated (if i want to use the controller i have to activate them every time I turn on the computer)

that could be the problem then, steam recently got an update, and looks like if it detects any controller at all on your computer, it will try to act as controller support for games, the problem is that games like Witcher 3 have its own native controller support, so steam and witcher 3 will conflict with each other and cause problems (lot of people reporting issues)

not sure if this is your problem since it does seem a bit different than the ones that i've read so far, but worth a try.

to check to see if that's your issue, try launching the game through the .exe file found in the game folder, this will bypass steam so there would be no way for steam to conflict with witcher 3. and check to see if the game will work properly. or alternatively you could try unplugging your controller and see if it solves it.

also apparently there is another way that you could try and fix it.

to:

return IDT_KeyboardMouse;

This is happening because of the steam controller support added to the client. As soon as we manually shift the steampad to IDT_KeyboardMouse. The game started showing the keyboard inputs right from start :)

again i'm not sure if your problem is related to this, (try the bypass steam method to determine if this is related or not) but if that's your issue, use the method explained above to fix it.

Okay, unplugging the controller was enough. As you said, there is a conflict between the keyboard and the controller.
Kinda weird because the computer isn't supposed to detect a controller without the proper drivers...

it's actually steam that is causing all the problems. I mean if you look through this forum for the past couple of days, there have been dozens of people complaining, and that is only the people who have been complaining here, imagine how many people are screaming at cdpr or steam over this. Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ forum this is as well, not a single moderator to put up a thread with information about this so this forum is getting spammed with people complaining that their controllers are not working properly or that the game thinks that their ps4 controller is an xbox one.

the bindings to my G502 spectrum mouse were gone for buttons 4,5,6. i cant rebind to those buttons when i tried again

The other issue is that although i've already exited and closed the game, the damn game music still keeps playing!@
