Of course, it would be exceedingly helpful if they were updated with the updated English translations. I've started up a Wiki for the english version of the game, and I've been populating it quite a bit, but I'd be very grateful for any help. The english wiki can be found here:

The japanese wiki is at least of use to look at until we can reformat the item file into something more useful.

Is it just item names you need to match up? Or monsters too?
It's not necessary, it just might make the more bizzare names or odd translations easier to work out.
Something I just noticed, some items may be cursed only when equiped by certain classes/races/genders. For example, some holy items equiped by Devilish characters, or silver items like the Silver Cloak, which acts as cursed equipment if equiped by Werebeast.
Also try to include any activatable effects, like the Flamberge flame when used, , or Item Encyclopedia's +1 Intelligence if activated when equiped.
I've left activatable effects in the item spreadsheet, but the effects are numbers referencing some other data file, and I haven't gone and tried to translate those yet. At the moment, it's fairly easy to see if an item has an activatable effect.
