Linux support?
Why would you guys abandon a genuinely fun game that us Linux players could play only to develop a second one without it? Seems like a kick to the teeth, as always.

Doesn't work for me on Debian. Just downloaded & launched, instant-crash before it even gets into the game. Guess I'll delete it now. GG

Instant crash on Kernel 6.13.5-200 (Nobara/Fedora)

Launches but then immediately crashes on ubuntu as well - I really hope they fix this before full release

Unless they remove their Anti-Cheat, which is highly unlikely we're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck.

i mean yall didn't like it enough for them to make a sequel instead of continuing to update the original.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Why the ♥♥♥♥ would we be pissed if we didn't enjoy the first one? ♥♥♥♥ off, troll.
If they do a native Linux port, I hope they set these two cvars in their DefaultEngine.ini so it won't be capped at 60FPS if you enable VSync:
r.Vulkan.CPURenderthreadFramePacer=0 r.Vulkan.CPURHIThreadFramePacer=0

This was an issue with the first game on Linux (You had to disable VSync in-game and then force it using GOverlay and by having MANGOHUD=1 %command in the launch parameters for the game), and it's still an issue with recent Unreal Engine versions.

Native would be great. But I'd be fine with just removing the Anti-Cheat so proton will work....

As for the second thing. UE5 absolutely blows when it comes to performance. Unoptimized mess of an engine. That said, it does work leagues better under Linux than Windows.

it's BattlEye, which is literally Linux Native, why should they remove it? They'd pretty much just have to ask the BattlEye support team for the support to be enabled.

Will Linux be supported in the next play test this month?
According to SteamDB[steamdb.info] they removed Linux.
That doesn't mean it has to stay this way.
The anticheat does not let you run the game on linux on anything other than a Steam Deck, and none of the workaround from protondb work anymore. I was hoping this "trend" was limited to gacha games only, but apparently every single anticheat is doing it now. Disgusting.

Aw man! I was hoping I could switch to Linux as my main gaming PC. But now it looks like I have to dual boot:(
Too bad.
Doesn't work with Proton for me either. Shame, I was looking forward to trying it out, hopefully this issue gets fixed soon.
