My honest 30 days & 172hrs review
I want to kick off this thread by expressing how much potential this game has; it’s a shame to see it go to waste. I genuinely enjoy playing, but now that we’ve migrated to Steam, it’s time to implement changes and newer activities that could attract more players. Here are a few suggestions that might help bring back players:

1. Pack Rates Are Exploitative: The current pricing for packs is a cash grab. Players can easily spend $300+ without obtaining the banner unit. And, even if you manage to get it, you’ll need over 1,800+ fragments to achieve hyper boost, plus an additional 500+ fragments just to reach level 100.

2. PvP disparity/Imbalance: There’s a significant disparity between units. Characters like S-Snake, Dark Roger, Lucci, and Jabra essentially guarantee an instant win! I get it, you need to sell products but please don't make it SO obvious, it's insulting.

3. Inconsistent PvP Mechanics: The game often disregards key One Piece mechanics/physics of the story that are key for the benefit of the meta. For example, how is it possible for a devil fruit user like S-Snake can permanently trap L Shanks in stone mode? Haki should counteract devil fruit abilities, but this isn’t reflected in gameplay, we need to address this.

4. Bugs, Targeting Issues and wonky attack movements: The number of bugs is quite concerning. Auto-targeting nearby foes is inconsistent, and when you finally do lock onto a target, it often ends up being the one bot far across the map, jeopardizing your chances of capturing objectives.

5. Poor Matchmaking: The matchmaking system needs serious improvement. Mobile players have their own separate matchmaking pool, which often leads to unfair match ups. You might find yourself facing a team of bots while your opponents are fully-equipped mobile players with a maxed-out dark Roger and Lv. 9 colored medals.

if any of yall want to add other suggestions, feel free to do so! keep it civil and friendly please.

Powercreep is to be expected in a gacha, that bit didn't surprise me when I started a couple of weeks ago. Managed to get my hands on some of units which may not be top tier, but considered "usable". The power disparity made worse by the atrocious matchmaking is my biggest gripe. More often than not, you load into matches where the enemy team has 2x your total power. Thanks for the extra league points for a fearsome foe encounter Bandai, but those matches aren't fun at all.
It takes months of account-building to get your units to a point where you can actually use them. They'll still get 1 shot by the many Shanks or Rogers, but you don't feel quite as useless anymore at least. Unfortunately, the medal grind is just a huge time gate for newer players, made worse by the fact it's got RNG attached to it. Even pulling a meta unit by chance doesn't really bump you up all that much, since even they need to be limit broken to at least lvl 80 first, which again takes time.
All in all, a slow power-buildup is fine by me, but not when the game is as old as it is - The new player experience right now is pretty atrocious. If we had functional matchmaking, things wouldn't be as dire, but we don't. Until I can get my account built up a little, I just grind season ranks on Steam, where you play nothing but bots until S+ since we also don't have crossplay.

i agree to point: 1, 4 & 5

to point 2 & 3

2: its in general the team comp that wins not the units, in higher ranks IF for once the matchmaking is fair, it doesnt matter what chars are played its how its played, if you bring full team of attackers or agility chars, you wont win.

3: its a mobile battle game, if you want a story accurate game and fighting system, your just not in the right place + ace shouldnt be a playable char, some chars would be unbeatable etc. so that point you should kinda get yourself ...

in the end i think some of the biggest flaws are the matchmaking combined with the progression, either new players should be able to catch up way quicker or should just not be able to play agains players that play for years.

I respect your takes and I agree to an extent, we need more resources for new players to get them going for sure.
