Paladin Build
I recently restarted on a new party, and was thinking about how I made my 'main' character. I wanted to be able to hit most of the conversation options this time around, and I wanted to be a paladin to have access to some of that class' specific dialogues.

I also do not want the paladin to be useless - which turns out to be really hard to do :P

Anyway, the idea here is:

STR max
DEX min
PER, RES 17 each
INT 15
CON winds up being about 5

It is a good talking character, as with items or buffs you can hit the highest conversation targets.

In combat though, well - Paladins suffer from having a whole lot of nothing, but this character works as follows:

Twice a fight, you can smite something, and the stat array gives you as much out of those smites as you can get, but since you really only have those 2 things to do, being horribly slow doesnt matter. The rest of the time, you switch to a swoard/board combo if you need to, and you wind up being extremely hard to hurt, so the low CON doesnt matter so much (you are also hopefully not the only tank here)

Take talents and feats to add more fire damage to your smite, and more damage to your attacks in general. Add fire damage to your weapon, and get the talent that makes fire damage do more. Decide if you will smite through a 2-hander, an arquebus, or a pair of sabres. Round it all off with the Talent that gives you a +accuracy aura, and there is still room for some other stuff - I like the paladin talent that gives you extra defence against all the nasty status effects, and a couple of exhortations.

I have found it is a pretty good build that can easilly play on the front line, and it's twice a fight big hit winds up being one of the biggest hits anyone does short of a rogue what has all the right situations available (except this paladin doesnt need luck, and won't die if things go wrong)

It probably helps that I made a set of custom portraits of the main 6 from MLP for my team of custom characters, but shhh - don't tell anyone that I am a brony. I just wish I could make custom 3d models for the game as well :P Anyway that caused me to restart the game so I could use them, and was of course taking the time to second guess my decisions for the paladin build.
