Rogue Duel Wield vs 1H
I have been using my Rogue as a 1H fighter, loved the accuracy.

I'm at the point where I have enough money to buy "fine" items and have been split between a sword or sabre.

Then I thought, why not both?

Does Duel Wielding sacrafice accuracy for damage output?

My Rogue is built for high accuracy and speed. Wears light armor and complements Eder/goes invisible and pops back out

Advice on which way to go?

Yes it does. Using only a single 1-handed weapon with no shield grants

Yup, +15 Accuracy (which is about +18% damage, so not at all insignificant).

However, using two weapons gives you an additional attack. There might be an accuracy penalty (I never checked). Just equip a weapon and a shield, then swap the shield for a weapon to see if your accuracy drops.

I like dual-wielding because it's fun, but the single weapon style sounds great for being GUARANTEED of delivering a hit. And with your build that sounds desirable. Plus you could use this talent:

I think I'm going to do a play-through of this game as Captain Jack Sparrow....

Don't know why your comment made me decide that.

Well, my rogue has (lv11):

1h saber = 21-31 cut dmg and 95 acc.

1h saber & stiletto = 21-31 cut dmg - 15-21 piercing dmg & 83-79 acc.

It seems worthy to do more dmg, and the acc penalty isn't really big, no problems to hit most of monsters in the game, and pick 2 types of dmg that make the rogue a versatile dps dealer.

I always use the dual wielding mode with the modal skill that increases acc (+8 acc, +20% melee dmg).

I hope that helps you.

Couldn't you perhaps place a pistol in both each of your weapon slots, and switch to the second one after firing the first one? Or does the reload (for some reason) cover both of them?

That is one way to fire faster as the cooldown for switching weapons is lower than the cooldown for reloading.

But it's not actually dual-wielding.

Use dual wield. My Hearth Orlan rogue dualwielded and had like 97% hits landed at the end of the game. And 80% of that were crits. Easily the most damage in the group, Aloth being a close second though. I cannot imagine a one handed approach to do as much damage and accuracy is a neglible bonus. Just look for weapons with annihilation.

If you were to dual wield these types of fire arms, you'd only get to fire each once. They require two hands for re-arming. Much like a crossbow.

I'm pretty sure its the closest you're gonna get, considering how they are reloaded.

I think dual wielding fast weapons is perobably optimal, My rogue PC does this and has absolutely no diffiulty hitting targets therefore a) does more DPS due to additional attacks and b) causes more interupts meaning her victims hardly ever get a chance to even take a swing at her in 1-to-1 fights.

The main reason for this is that since sneak attack (and later deathblow) are activated only when the target is blinded/prone/hobbled etc, she is almost always savaging a victim so disabled, and of course those disables also mostly lower the victim's deflection to such an extent that she almost never misses. Which of course renders the accuracy bonus from 1H/no shield superfluous.

I like it, but I think the person who requested dual-wielding pistols was hoping for a more literal interpretation.

All the firearms (that I've seen) in the game are muzzle-loaded. Perhaps if they do a sequel that jumps forward in time a ways we could have something like that. (That sounds snarky but I don't mean it like that, I'd genuinely enjoy seeing that happen).

I enjoy black-powder tech as a rarity in my fantasy worlds because it adds diversity.

But if we jump forward to cartridged weapons and things like revolvers, it would require an enormous change to the setting and the world.

While I wouldn't mind playing the "Wild West" of Pillars, we have to acknowledge that it could no longer hold the same similarities to traditional fantasy worlds that our current setting does.

Is it possible/useful to use a blade in one hand and a pistol in the other?
