Sided with Dozens and let Nridek live... stuck

As the title says, I sided with the Dozens, went to Lle a Rhemen, found Nridek and let him live, and then I found out that I needed the soul vessel he was carrying to complete the quest.

The problem is that the Doemenels hate me and the Knights wont work with me because I sided with the Dozens, so now I can't get into the animancy hearings.

The only suggestion to get around this that I've seen is that I should just start killing Knights until they hate me, and then I will be able to get Lady Webb to let me enter representing Dunryd Row. It that really the only way to do it other than reloading an old save?

I was really into the game up to this point and it seems stupid that my character will have to commit mass murder with no apparent reason for it just to progress in the story.

You don't need the soul vessel to complete that quest - I just gave the Dozens the remains of the ancient weapons you find in the ruins - the bundle of weapons is useless to them but you still get their reward and thanks and they should give you the invitation you need when you ask.

The only thing I found was the Clad-something spear, but it seems I was also supposed to find an item called Ancient Engwithan Weapon. There is no such item anywhere though, and I've read now that when letting Nridek go you can let him leave with the weapons or make him keep them. I don't remember what I chose, but I guess I let him keep them then?

Talking to Wenan does not let me end the quest, if I ask about the hearings he just tells me to go get the Engwithan weapons. So I guess it's broken, by design or bug?

Try talking to lady web again, check through all of her conversation options - if nobody will give you the invitation you should have the option to ask to be her representative instead and you shouldn't have to kill the knights to get that.

I found another thread[forums.obsidian.net] that solved my problem. Apparently this is a bug and activating cheat mode and spawning the missing item is a workaround.
