Should I restart?
6 hours in and i'm at Searing Falls, but everytime I try to move I get screwed by dragons and the whole group dies within 30 seconds, spamming heals and spells or not.

I have no money for new gear and it seems every quest I CAN do at the moment will get me ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

Wat do.

Searing Falls is full of drakes. Why on Earth would you go there so early in the game?

Have you been to Caed Nua? Dyrwood? Copperlane?

Insufficient information. Party? Levels?

6 hours and you're at Searing Falls.

You're too far ahead. You need to backtrack.

Six members, all of the story characters and a hired custom. I think we are all 2-3.

Lol sorry.

I AM a bit new to cRPGs, though I played some of Divinity: OS, Fallout 1, and the first Baldur's Gate.

Still haven't gotten out of that modern RPG mindset of "Pfft, I don't HAVE to do every side quest I see!".

Ah I see. You should do some a bunch fo the side stuff here. It is just as good as the main story. It isn't like Dragon Age Inquisition where it is boring crap for most side activities. You don't have to do ALL of them. But a lot of the game is dedicated to those.

Yea, these games can be a bit of a kick to the face when you are trying to break into them. The good thing is that you shouldn't ever have to restart. You just turn around and go somewhere else.

I was talking more of 'modern' as Dark Souls, Morrowind, Diablo, and Deus Ex: HR; where side quests aren't as important. DA: I looks stupid, but I get the message.

I just finished a couple of low level side quests and now everyone is at level 4 except my custom-hire. Which is weird because I hired her when everyone was at level 2 (she was 2 aswell).

Anyway, thanks guys.

Yeah, none of the wilderness in the first Baldur's Gate were as vicious as Searing Falls... except MAYBE the Ankheg farm.

Searing Falls caught me off guard too, but when I saw Drakes EVERYWHERE I was like "nope, I'm out." Scouting is your friend! ^_^

I recommend just canvasing the city for quests. There's loads to do in there.

You don't need to do all of them but if you hit "a wall", it's time to retreat and reconsider doing some. There is no point in which you have done all the quest of lower and same level and you are without money/items. :) Od Nua has same issue if you try to go deep too fast.

I did that whole drake area at level 7 and didn't find it easy. Not impossible by any means, just demanding in attention and some resources.

General rule of PoE is that one part seems to be too hard, ho somewhere else, collect some earlier quests, and come back to kick bottoms. With levels just 2-3 there should lots of quests in gilden dale. You can seek erand quests in City, sometimes there is no even need to fight, just talk your way to victory.

I thought that area where you find Shar-Teel and the basilisks was pretty nasty too.

I forgot about that... but I always sent the friendly ghoul in ahead and ranged them all to death!

And that area is sooo far off the beaten path that you can really only get there if you're looking for it. Searing Falls you can stumble into by accident.
