Can't beat Raedric
Okay, so I've been going along at a steady pace, picking up quests as I can. I've got Aloth, Eder, and my character (a Wizard). All my characters are level 4. I had no trouble getting to Raedric. However, now I'm struggling in the fight. I pretty much get instantly killed after 1 spell or so. Am I underleveled/undermanned for this point in the game? Or any tips?

I'd go find other companions to fill out your team. Especially the NPC Priest. Will be a very tough fight with a party of three.

Alternatively, you can try pulling them to the doorway, having Eder block the door (fighting 1-2 at a time) while your mages nuke.

You could use more help before tackling Raedric. There is a priest you can pick up in one of the early areas who would help a lot. Makes a good bit of difference what difficulty you are playing, also, because there are more guards at higher difficulties. This is one of the fights where sending your tank forward alone to have the dialog can be useful, so that your party isn't surrounded at the beginning of combat.

Yeah, I did try using my tank (Eder) to scout, but he went down too quickly. Where is the priest? Did I miss him or was I supposed to explore more (did the Temple Quest, the Blacksmith Quest, and the Mill Quest)?

The priest is in the area south of Gilded Vale. Also u can hire npc's at any tavern too.

Durance the piest of Magran can be found in Magrans Fork, at the crossroads.
Yeah, storming Raedric's Hold with a fighter and 2 wizards is asking for TPK.

I figured that, but I wasn't sure how recruiting worked, so I didn't want to fill my party and miss out on a recruitable party member.

Also, how important is spell/trait selection? I'm worried I gimped my characters.

Thanks for all the help so far guys.

Yeah, much easier with 5 or 6 characters. I got Sagani and Grieving Mother right away, which made the fight a joke. I put heavy armor and shields on Durance.

Paladins don't do a lot of damage, but are tanky. I had Sagani's pet and Durance hold the sides while Eder held the front. Everyone focused down the enemy casters, then eventually the paladins, then eventually Raedric.

Or, keep everyone in a doorway and pull them towards you with Eder. You need to keep clicking on him to break engagements, but as long as he gets back to the doorway quick enough, the rest of the fight becomes trivial.

Honestly had no clue. Got to that point with literally zero problems. Even Osyra was a simple fight. Plus the chapel allowed me to stealth the entire thing once I figured out where the priest was.

Can't give any advice. I helped Osrya and Raederick as that seemed like the best option for the people long term, as Osrya is free to study animancy.

Edit: If you choose to help raederick the fight with Kolsc is really easy. So might go that way or come back later :P

Yeah, I get that. However, for me, I couldn't really side with someone that openly experiments on prisoners and supports a tyrannical dictator.

I think I'll try coming back with some more allies (And maybe at a higher level).

Still worried about gimping my characters though. Any tips on traits/spells?

You'll eventually learn all the spells. Picking up enemy grimoires can allow you to learn spells you don't know. There is a cost and I have no idea why, but it isn't a big deal because you'll get way more money than you'll ever use.

Put everyone in plate armor, fight becomes easy.

Always pick up every piece of junk armor/weapons after a fight. You can store unlimited amounts in your stash, then sell it all at a vendor. That way you have plenty of cash to buy/learn all the spells you find! ;)

your going to be sorrounded so leave characters on the stairs and go talk to him with your tank.
