There's some books on gilden vale who explain "things" like the war, gods, etc etc

Some PoE Lore:
Referring to "The Iroccian Calender" (an ingame book) & PoE wiki there are 334 days in a year with 27 hours per day. There are 5 Days a week, 4 weeks a month. And there are 16 months divided into 4 season, each ending with a 3-day long celebration. There's also a celebration every new year and mid year.

There actually are only 16 months. You've probably counted those season celebrations towards months (spring dawn, summer rising, autumn falling and winter dusk).
