and whats cheesy about a reach barbarian?
Reach barbarians are kind of cheesy in the sense its the most optimum 2nd line build imo. Would you have a min max party without 1 in it? Moreover, with a weapon that has a %proc on crit that inflicts prone.
Chanters get insanely good at lvl 8 onwards. You can either build tank or ranged/melee DPS since they have 2 crappy talents anyway in their class line.
I've yet to play a remotely balanced mmo so I guess if they did one it wouldn't be much different from anything else out there, lol.
Personally I hope they remove these cheesy retaliation builds, but i guess they don't have to since it's a single player game.
Why did I buy this game? Part of me is glad I switched over to MMOs recently.
Only thing this build is not good at would be the big boss / dragon fights etc. which would few and far between,
i am doing a potd expert play right now with min max party which consists of rogue (dualwield noble weapons, also mc) fighter (tank) paladin (tank) wizard (3rd line) druid (3rd line) and priest (buffer + guns), so no i dont have a barbarian in my party. i am at the end of act2 now, lvl 9 party so far no problems but it is getin tough now with all the charms i encounter.
why would you use the priest for healign? when a druid is so much better at it?
Its cheese on top of cheese. I didnt even realize this. First off retal procs carnage which in turn activates One Stands Alone +20.
Get your cheese in before they fix it.
Then I just gave in and sent one into retal nuke and it was over in a minute. I had my priest on rez standby and 2nd as reserve hanging back.
If you use it don't complain.
This aint rocket science.
I can forgive crappy extremely unbalanced RPG systems if the story is good or the lore is interesting, which is not the case here.
Even if they release new dungeons etc for DLCs, won't be coming back.
You know something - I used to think those guys complaining about balance in MMOs esp for PVP and the devs changing mechanics to prevent trivialisation of PvE combat to be excessive. After playing this "homage", think I will stick to MMOs now and have a greater appreciation of the balance team in MMOs.
I don't see why they didn't make it 100% of melee weapon. Back then, if you armed yourself with a fast weapon like a dagger, adding 20 flat damage via talent is broken. But right now... 20% is absolute garbage.
However, I'm fine with how retaliation works, even that fact that it stacks.
