Upkeep for hirelings in stronghold?
First, i am playing the german version so idk if any of the re-translations i am using here are the same in english version or not, but i hope you'll understand anyway what i mean ;-)

Recently i finished the barracks in my stronghold and got the options to recruit hirelings. At every hireling there where two values displayed, the daily upkeep and, i guess, the initial hiring cost. Both stand at 10, so i hired 5 hirelings for 50 copper now, and i thought it must be then 50 per day for all 5 together (5x 10 = 50 so my thoughts).

One day later i got the bill, but it wasn't 50, it was 250?!!! What means every of them costs 50 per day, and not 10 as initially displayed. So i looked back at the recruiting screen, and there is still noticed on every hireling "10 copper per day"!

Is there any kind of misinterpreting from my side here?

And another question, after recruiting the hireling, which increases my security level to 18 (fame 11) i am losing ALL of my taxes to bandits while before this i lost just half of it :-/
Could anyone also explain this behaviour to me? The game itself doesn't any help here, there is not one single help screen to interpret all of these values :-(

i am not wrong they are paid by turns... I don't know how much time is a turn but...

I'd like to know all of this too, especially, what determines the security level of your stronghold because I upgraded everything, got all security based people in the barracks and still my lands are crime infested, like people can barely make it to my door without getting an attempted robbery on them

Strange thing, hired the Oger for protection, now all others show me 20 bucks. Is there a hidden price market for hirelings which determines what cost they actually have? First 10, next day 50, now 20 (and 110 for the Oger^^). And not just one single description why what happens :-/

I think you pay your wage bill every 5 days game time (not turns, only taxes, quests etc seem to use turns, not your bills unfornatly). So one hireling at 10c per day = 50c come payday. Hence, you hired 5 hirelings at 10c per day and the "bill" was for 5 days of work = 5 x 50 = 250c.

no, i also thought it would be once a week or sth. but the bills come every ingame day, so if i do not rest or travel i don't pay but if one day is gone the next bill comes in :-( .... and always 250c (or 500c now with Ogerü^^)

Are you sure? For me it is game time.
A turn = When a quest is completed.
A day is well a day, I am pretty sure mine comes every 5 days and it says it as well but I will check when I get back home after work.
