Dual wielding v 2 handed v 1 hand no shield
Which advantages do they have?

It seems to me, only 1handed + shield and 2 handed are worth it.

Those of you who have managed to make 2wield work, what did you do? Hard and Potd difficulties.

Everything has its perks. Shield gives you more defense at the cost of accuracy. 1 handed plus no shield gives you more accuracy but takes away the defense.... all methods are more than likely viable.

dual wielding means faster attacks means you can hold two spell striking weapons which both of them proc per encounter i think plus someone has to you find so many different kinds of weapons letting them go to waste is a shame

if you want to make normal weapons work i would guess going fast weapons with vulnerable attack and savage attack if you can afford the accuracy

but it really depends on your class every class has different priority talents to pick

1H Only = +12 accuracy = More crits. Good for crit builds (currently using this)
1H + Shield: Loose accuracy but gain deflection (& reflex with talent). Defensive
Dual Wield: Attack Speed
2H = Big Hits + dmg bypass (estoec for example)

I have to say I have found 1h (on paladin) only to be very good actually. Top dps for the team, most amount of crits by far, most amount of hits and being a paladin, have some natural defences to help a bit with survivability.

The only time I found two-hand better then one-hand (duel) for my play-style is that spear you can buy in Glided vale. You can then set your Fighter in a choke point and have your Rogue or Barbarian attack everything in a huge radius without being in the front line.

Obviously one-hand and one-hand with shield is for consistent DPS, just like how tanks are in most MMOs. It's about accurate reliable damage. Something I feel every tank or off-tank in your group should use.

For dual-wield I like using Stilettos, but also the flail or any one-handed weapon with graze to hits is pretty nice depending on what you are fighting.

EDIT: oh I forgot to mention that most Two-hand greatswords have two damage types, like slash/pierce, unlike one-hand weapons, which means it will have a better chance at taking advantage of enemy vulnerabilities without the need to switch weapons.

I've currently been doing a high might, high intelligence build for a barbarian with 2 handed swords. Max dex too and you dont attack so slow, do huge damage to all the little enemies. He is a little soft and easy to hit, but the barb multipliers for health and the higher endurance gain helps a lot.

Dual wielding flails will be more useful then just having a big 2 handed weapon with huge damage spikes beating DR? Is this true really?

So for my rogue, its best to only use my spear without the shield. I mean rogues ar all about DPS. Right?
Revolucas Apr 14, 2015 @ 4:01pm
YOu can make your Rogue more survivable by usinga shield. Nothing wrong with that, I did.

Cool. I wanted to do this, sorta greek warrior with light armor and sheld + spear!

I'm running a duel wielding rogue right now with a flail and mace. High Accurracy + Speed + Graze into Hits + Hits into Crits + Backstabing is pretty awesome. Having no trouble on hard.

EDIT: Just checked my Hit to Crit ratio in game. I have 758 crits and 997 hits. Thats over 75%! It's crazy.

Something to note is that you can switch weapons mid-combat to another set. So if you're taking a beating, you can switch to your defensive set, or if you feel that you need to punch harder and your daggers aren't working out, you can switch to a 2h weapon. Thankfully all the weapon masteries are multi-teired.

I should also note a neat mechanic with this is with Guns and Crossbows. You can bypass at least one reload before being forced into another one. For insance. Shoot, Switch, Shoot, Switch, Reload, Shoot. Instead of Shoot, Reload, Shoot.

I was just planning my "A-team" and my melee DPS will be barbarian Coastal Aumaua with twohanded Estoc for tough enemies and in second slot he'll dual wield flails, quick for weaker mobs, I find flails really interesting, fast attack speed + 1/3 change (approx.) to convert graze to hit + "20% faster attack with dual wield" perk + heart of furry at lvl 11 walking meat grinder :3

This is my end game Dual Weild Rogue (Dual Stilletos). I didn't min-max, I built him as a Crit Monster.

I might try other Rogue builds.
