Do Helms DO ANYthing?

I see no DR or increase in armor when eqquipping a full plate helm or any type of helm for that matter....

Are the helms just in the game for eye candy at this point and to Enchant?

A basic helmet does nothing to help your character - A helm with magical enchantments does.

But yeah you get some stuff that does things later on.

Why wouldnt a full plate helm offer any type of DR or AR bonus?

There's no Minsc&Boo so, nobody goes for the eyes.

It's an odd choice - I seem to remember that in D:OS the same thing applied, but they at least reduced crit rate (? or some other recent RPG - LoG 2?)

But yes: essentially they're cosmetic unless enchanted.

Now i'v not played the old infinity games in a very long time but as far as i remember they only gave immunity to crit for the most part. I think there were some special ones that gave other stuff as well but as far as the basic stuff be it plate or a piece of leather it didn't help much.

You will find magic hats here as well don't worry.

Personally I'd prefer if we could just toggle them as a visual thing - And give helmets a very basic DR1 with 5% recovery penalty.

Check your options menu, I believe it's a toggle in there.
