Triple Crown Solo -How???
I've been tinkering around thinking on how to best accomplish this, but I'm curious on what anyone else's thoughts are.

There is a vivid thread about this topic at RPG Codex you may be interested. Though with the balance changes coming tomorrow, something maybe out dated now.

I have the achievement.

The answer is: You cheat like the cheatiest cheating honey badger known to humankind.

The game really is not possilble TSC, even if you meta-game, bend the rules and so on - this is because there are isn't enough quest XP to buff your char before having to fight several large battles.

Seems they will adress this issue in next patch by giving you a larger bonus xp when running with less than a full party.

https://forums.obsidian.net/blog/7/entry-179-patch-notes-103/
"Raised the bonus for having fewer than six party members from 5% per character under the limit to 10% per character under the limit."

And not much of an achievement if you cheat to get it tho :P

Been thinking you might have to hit and run for some encounters. enemies go back and reset after a certain range, and you can seperate them this way

Do rogue, max stealth and use a slow ranged weapon. Make sure you know where traps are by playing another game at the same time on hard just to check those and the encounter locations. Stealth past most encounters so you don't risk dying, avoid the traps. Use summons, abuse enemy AI and the few bugs left to win hard fights. Copy your save so you can resume if you should die, alternatively close it by task manager so you can redo the fight.

Kiting or pulling is very useful.

Tried that with the rogue, you can't pass everything, like caed nua (when you speak to the throne), after the dialog you automatically pop out of stealth when the door opens and get aggroed by all the shadows.

I don't really care about achievements - after completing the game on hard (100% or at least 95%) I wanted to study how the design / mechanics etc worked and what was possible. I'm still unconvinced that the pacifist achievement is possible even on easy - not enough story / exploration XP around. (Although I do know how to speed run the game efficicently now).

Which is why I freely admit I used a character editor [has a lot more features than the 'iroll20s' standard] to get them.

Can you have the ability to go into stealth even in combat by then? If so use that and try to get out of combat or instakill somebody and use it again to get out of combat with more space.

Not much of an achievement if you can't get it either.

Funny; the global stats say 0 people have the achievement. I'm guessing you are straight up lying since your profile is private.

I thought about doing it pre-patch using the stat bug, but I'd rather have the challenge, since normal is so mind-numbingly easy after level 7 or so.

There is another achievement for killing less than X monsters the entire game, and I think that is a clue on how to get solo triple crown; you simply skip the majority of fights. This makes me think that a 'roleplaying' character might be viable (ie a character that can use speech options due to stats in order to finish quests without actually going and killing something).

One thing I am certain of - you need to know the game inside and out. You need to know where you can go to do easy quests to level before tackling a hard one. You need to know beforehand which items you will use and how to get them ASAP.

Funny, it doesn't really matter since I cheated to get it, but there we go.

The pacifist achievement is currently the rarest achievement, with only 0.02% of players having it. I attempted to do this on PoT, but the kill count came out at 236; on easy it was just under 100. You can check my post history for threads I made on it.

SOLO, 0.04%, less than ten rests 0.05% of players having it.

And, yes, I know the story / game inside and out now.

Edit - can you spot something about that picture which might change your mind, mr level 42?

I thought you weren't supposed to be able to get the achievements if you edited the character? I can see that's wrong. I'm curious as to how massively you had to edit him and what class/race combo you did these with?

http://rien-ici.com/iemod/

I did the pacifist runs with a level 12 mage, silly stats (100 in everything) - I was just interested in pulling things apart and seeing how to get it to work, and how / where the non-combat XP was located (and how far you could abuse stealth to get things done).

The SOLO run was a fighter with normal stats, but I missed most of the game out - just wanted to see if certain builds would work.

When / if DLC comes along & post-bug patching I'll probably try to do it legitimately, but stealth nerfs to paralyse, weapons, x10 cost on summoning items etc mean it's all a bit random atm.

Beaghan Apr 6, 2015 @ 9:12am
nice. I want to try it legit but it is a nightmare trying to figure out the whole game which class/race will be able to do each area and deciding what can be skipped by too.
