Spell Accuracy
Just now starting to get how accuracy effects your damage in this game and was playing around how to boost it for chars across the board. It brought me to questioning how spell accuracy actually works. Does it go off your equipped weapons accuracy or does it have its own predetermined accuracy stat? If i wanted to boost Aloths chance to hit/crit with spells, would giving him +accuracy on weapon from enchants and talents help any?

Yeah it depends on your total accuracy displayed in the char window + some spells have an effect like +10 accuracy

No. Spells don't seem to use a weapon accuracy. I did some testing with an accuracy 3 weapon, and the log seemed to show no difference.

I tried switching between scepter and rapier and the accuracy comes out about the same from looking at the combat log. It's getting bonuses from bless type spells, but i still have no idea where the number is coming from.

Base accuracy of your character + bonuses inherent in the spell + any accuracy bonuses (Blessing spell, etc) is my best guess.

Was it a certain magical rapier? When I found it I nearly cackled with glee as I gave it to my caster. Then I checked the logs. :(

Okay Aloth is Lvl 4 and has no magic gear other than his default armor for extra aoe range.
I cast a Necrotic Lance (+10 accuracy) at my main pc.
It comes up as 43 Acc in combat log.
His base Acc with no weap is 29 so
29+10+5?(distant enemy bonus?) comes up as 44
Its close but I really want to get the EXACT formula here somehow. The official Wiki is pretty barren atm and the game doesnt touch on it.
If its 29base+10spell+4charlvl, it comes up 43
But i feel like the base accuracy would be accounting for it. If anyone wants to help number crunch, feel free to dump numbers in here, im gonna try and watch Aloths numbers as he levels and see if i can nail the formula.

No one can find out more on this? So many things are not adding up / making sense, as my casters in my group seem to miss a lot or spells are just not doing anything to my foes. It would be nice to find out why =/

been a while since i thought about this again lol
Aloth is at lvl 6 now so i cast necrotic lance at PC again
his total accuracy was 57 (47+10 from spell)
Still no magic gear that could effect accuracy.
His base Acc with no weapon was 41, with scepter (+6 from talent) 47
Removing weapon had no effect on spell accuracy.
I wish i remembered to parse at lvl 5 >.<
