Is there an "Select All" for party?

Something that is really bugging me, and I don't know if it's a bug or if maybe I'm just missing something, is the game deselecting my party every time I load a new area or finish a conversation with someone. I currently have 3 members in my party and for whatever reason, the game always auto-selects both Aloth and my main character, but never Eder. I always have to use the "Select All" key every time I load a new area/finish a conversation, which is quite annoying as I often forget to do so, and then I'll get halfway across the map before I realize that Eder is still standing there like a tard.

Is there an option to remedy this annoyance? I don't understand why the game auto-selects only the first two characters and not everyone.

you can create groups, ctrl+1 puts all selected partymembers to 1 hotkey.

Backspace selects all party members, including summons.

yes, there is and you can even config it in control. Backspace is too darn far so i used ` to select all instead.
There is also a custom formation where you can do something liek seperate your force into two for better flanking

I done the same, rebound it to ` cuz backspace was to far.

But I guess my question is - is there a way, when I load a new area or leave a conversion, for the game to auto-select all of my members without me having to? IE: I have my full party already selected, I'm leaving one map and entering a new one, and for some odd reason when I enter the new map only my main character and Aloth are selected, and Eder no longer is. So then I have to "Select All" every single time I enter a new area or leave a conversation, or else I get halfway through the new area before realizing that Eder has been deselected and is no longer traveling with us. I can't make sense of it.

...you seem to be missing the point :/ C'mon...I AM doing this. I have the "Select All" mapped conveniently to one of my side mouse buttons. The problem is, the game keeps undoing it. It makes no sense that the game automatically and constantly deselects just 1 of my party members and not all.

Not that I know of. But in addition to backspace (or whatever non-default option you've chosen) there is an icon in the middle bar. It's a rectangle and IIRC it's near the left. If you hover over it, it says "select all" or something like that. I know it won't be what you're looking for, OP, but others with the same problem might read the thread.

I think I've narrowed the problem down to my mouse. I have a 17-button Razer Naga, 12 on the side which I use to map most of the basic functions of the game to. It seems any time I use any one of those buttons (IE: to highlight items, check map, etc) the game deselects the third member of my party.

Apparently this game hates advanced mice. Or maybe just mine.
