where to buy food ingredients?

just have a quick question about shops or traders that are selling food ingredients (like fish, cocoa and etc.)

i'm trying to get some easy achievements first, so that they no longer distract me from the plot and the game. i'm just in the first chapter and haven't reached Defiance Bay yet, but haven't got required items when building merchants in the Stronghold.

Not an answer to your question, but I hate gathering ingredients that by all rights should be common in game lore.
Nothing takes me out of "Hero Saving The World" vibe as much as spending 45 minutes travelling from map to map trying to find the vendor that sells 3 fish.

So I gave myself 50 of all the cheap items (not the gems and alchemical tough monster kill drops and so, but the cheap herbs and food ingredients) through the console.

Just pointing out the option, if you'd rather do it legit - by all means.

Yeah just straight up 'food' merchants seem to be absent so far. I too haven't set foot in Defiance yet but you would think that in some of the outlining vllages I've been to so far that I'd be able to buy some basic ingredients somewhere.
Even the Inn's usually only have like, milk or something.

I just want my 10p Playfire achieve dammit :P

well, then i'd probably try to make a visit to main city or get to the distant villages. 'cause in the Inn of Gilded Vale i have found only cheese and grain that i don't actually need for receipts.

There's a nice variety when you get to the taverns in defiance bay. sneaking around and finding secret stashes in dungeons help too.

finally found fish, eggs and rice on the Marketplace when just entered Defiance Bay.
