So surprised to see an Obsidian game with so little amount of bugs.
Finally they learned to hires testers or maybe they don't have to deal the pressure of publishers, whatever the reason, happy to know that. I know that some people are facing bugs, but that's so less than we're used to deal with.

They were free to work on it until they were ready to release it. Big difference from having a deadline in place. Publishers don't exactly give a lot of wiggle room unless the game is a guarenteed smash hit.

Well, they used to be Black Isle. These types of games were their bread and butter. Numerous D&D games, Fallout 1 and 2.

Even those games were buggy though lol. Still, very cool to see how well the game runs on release. They did a really good job.

I hope this trend of stable games with minor bugs by Obsidian continues for their future titles.

You guys realize that QA is supposed to fall within the publisher's responsibility?

For instance it was Bethesda's decision to release FNV before Obsidian had a chance to actually finish it... Hence this game's reputation for being buggy which in turn caused Obsidian to lose their bonus over the metacritic score.

According to Chris Avellone Obsidian was supposed to get a one million dollar bonus if FNV got an 85 metacritic score and unfortunately it only got an 84 score. I don't know how much money Bethesda made with FNV but Obsidian only got a straight payment.

At least FNV was almost finished. Some content was cut but it wasn't as incomplete as Kotor2 (it took years to a dedicated team of modders to restore the missing content in this game).

At this point I'm just glad that the kickstarter and the partnership with Paradox Interactive have allowed Obsidian to break away from that curse and ship PoE in a playable state.

Am I actually reading this title right? Yeah, there are less bugs than usual obsidian games but the bugs that are in are RIDICULOUS.

Yep. Good for you if you aren't experiencing bugs, but for the people that are they are gamebreaking.

I knew what to expect with an Obisdian game, and so I've been monitoring all the bug threads (while trying to avoid spoilers).

It has definitely saved me a lot of time and grief to be able to avoid the bugs myself. I have yet to have any NPC lose their inventory when changing party members, and have not gotten a modal mode stuck on or stacking attributes yet.

But I'm purposfully playing very slow (although Path of the Damned mode might be a larger factor in my slowness), so that hopefully I can at least intercept the first patch at least half way through the game.

Not really - but always in EVERY single game release people saying/claiming that.

Extremely clean release bugwise (not that it doesn't have some)

*now waits for those who believe they are experiencing a bug to rampage into the thread claiming the bugs are everywhere*
Balzaphon 2015 年 3 月 29 日 下午 5:22
there are big bugs i heard, like double clicking on a item from inventory to equip it removes your passive racial-talent bonuses
Ouroboros 2015 年 3 月 29 日 下午 5:25
Aloth just dissapeared from my game about a half hour ago. He's just totally gone. I fast travelled and he dissapered. That's pretty bad. That's huge. He doesn't show up under recruits either. If I wasn't so pissed I would be dying of laughter.

already found two game breaking bugs - dissapearing inventory on dismissed party members and what seems to be permament DR bonuses that came out of nowhere and stay on chars even when they're naked.... both bugs happened in the player keep

Exactly. Hell I didn't even experience the amount of bugs other people claimed with New Vegas. And I know that game was far more buggy. But if you listen to the forum....every single game is a bug ridden mess. This game doesn't have the amount of bugs that some Obsidian games had in the past. And I don't mean that to bash Obsidian. They are one of my favorite companies. I would rather have a great game with some bugs in it rather than the non-buggy soul-less poorly written crap that most people provide.

Ive found multiple game breaking bugs, involving entire classes, types of equiptment, and corruption that can somehow render saves made prior to the bug occuring, corrupted themselves. This is probably the buggiest game I've played this so far this year, possiblity the buggiest game since Simcity 2013 and I have purchased Early Access games. So let that sink in.
Roka* 2015 年 3 月 29 日 下午 6:51
The game isn't a buggy mess, if it was it would be all over the forums, websites and other media.
