Temple of Eothas
Need some tips on tackling this dungeon. Its extremely hard and frustrating. Shades and Shadows are madess with the teleports, defense, attacks. And yes, i am an incompetent, loser bastard who sucks at this game, in b4 some troll drops in....

I have a party of 5 since i did the fast grabbing of the 4 companions at level 1. My party are level 2 and 3s now. I'm a Priest. Am i underleveled? Undergeared? I can handle 4 of those damn monsters but they keep spawning more up to 6-7 Shades and Shadows after which my party just fell apart. I managed to clear a couple of rooms by fighting at doorway chokepoints but certain encounters they teleport and massacred my party.

Will appreciate any advice.

Priest should be able to kill all the shades easily with their class ability...

are you killing the shades as fast as you can first. When you kill them the shadows disappear

i also went away and did other quests and came back.

try to target not their deflection, shadows have like 0 HP but a lot of deflection, one dmg spell that doesnt target deflection really messes them up.
Or debuff their deflection.

And yeah, shades first, those are real ♥♥♥♥♥.

Fan of Flames from Aloth or any other wizard does wonders - As does Durance's "Turn undead and heal allies" spell. Especially if you upgrade it with the burn ability (I think? Unconfirmed)

yeah, I wouldn't do this if you got a small party, (I have done it, but it is hard) so level up a bit, and use the priest abilies.

I'm referring to his "once per encounter" ability. It's basically a cardboard copy of the Cleric's turn undead ability...

Athos's fire fan can occasionaly insta-kill 'em. I kited them through a doorway with an archer, who runs back while Athos preps the fire fan, then move your tank(s) to attack whilst the flame is firing. At that moment, bring the archer onto the attack.

If you time it right, you can block the door and deal some damage before they teleport. When they do and if they are hitting a squidgy target, then use all your party to kill it fast.

I did the first fight with this with all pause options turned on so I could see a breakdown of the fight..learnt a lot about the combat doing that. Now I manual pause. Also slow the action down, anything to give you an edge.

Get the priest and the chanter, return with 5 party members, proceed to destroy dungeon.

I did this quest with a 3 man party, my monk, Athos and a druid I hired, I tried to play tactically. Tried to get shadows out of their rooms and into a space where my warriors were and possibly finish them one by one, or hit them with a spell for an introduction. When my party's endurance would go down too much I would go to the inn and rest, rinse and repeat.
