I'm referring to his "once per encounter" ability. It's basically a cardboard copy of the Cleric's turn undead ability...
If you time it right, you can block the door and deal some damage before they teleport. When they do and if they are hitting a squidgy target, then use all your party to kill it fast.
I did the first fight with this with all pause options turned on so I could see a breakdown of the fight..learnt a lot about the combat doing that. Now I manual pause. Also slow the action down, anything to give you an edge.
