Strategy guide worth it?

Was thinking of picking up the digital strategy guide. So far the game has been pretty easy in terms of completing quests and finding items. I just explore the entire map with tab pressed down. Has anyone picked it up? Do you find it's useless or does it enhance the experience?

Its pretty cool and very detailed.

Its pretty good, but they did a poor job of editing it. Its worth it for the Eguide price. I wouldn't reccomend the physical copy unless your name is in it.

Which is why I got it, but unfortunately I was a victim of the poor editing I mentioned.

There is an option in the menu to highlight all intractable objects rather than just holding down tab.

Yeah but some things you dont find just by holding down tab. You have to be in sneak mode with enough Mechanical skill.

I never would have known about the gun on the first map if it weren't for the guide.

If you have just bought a game that encourages thought and exploration, and then decided that you'd rather someone else do all the thought and exploration for you, then I'm sure the Strategy guide is worth it for you.

... and pro tip, change the controls to toggle interactables (it is unbound by default), so you dont have to hold tab down the whole time.

Didnt even need the strategy guide for that one.

If you buy it e-guide, it's cheap enough. Contents talking, some wrong info and some good builds advice. Walkthrough is quite detailed, but nothing you can't find in Game Pressure guide.

The very first game on PC I bought was called "Heroes of the Lance":

(Fun story: it crashed, a lot, so I replaced it with a game called Starquake - then discovered the Pools of Radiance, which is a much better D&D title ;) ).

I got the digital Strategy Guide as part of my Kickstarter rewards.

First I thought it would one of those usual lame cheater walkthroughs, for which I have no use.
Since I don't want to spoil the game for me and finish it on my own.

However to my surprise, it turned out the Strategy guide is also an in depth manual and lore book, with detail background on locations, people items, monsters and. On top of that riddled with lovely pictures and in game maps. That convinced me to order the hard copy version which to my surprise is even on discount.
While avoiding the walkthrough part, I used the strategy guide to look up monsters, spells and things like that.

There was a time when strategy guides were not considered n00b prerogative.

In the nineties strategy guides where written with a lot of love. Instead just to provide a check list style guide, they were written like novels.
My favorite is the Wing Commander 1 & 2: The Ultimate Strategy Guide. I bought it 20 years after I played the actually game. By luck I saw it in a book store. It took me by surprised to see it was written like an after action combat report of a fictions pilot on board of the carriership Tiger Claw. It so good that I would it even recommend the guide to someone who doesn't have played Wing Commander, but are into Sci-Fi space opera novels.
