Massively overrated game
Honestly, this game is not only bug ridden, but some things are just utterly broken and were never play tested. How they managed to squander 4 million into a 2D game is beyond me.

1) The monk class is UTTERLY unplayable. While wounds sounds good in theory, its total ♥♥♥♥ in practice.

2) The pathfinding is a complete joke. I've had character just stuck spinning in circles while the enemy AI has one thing to do and thats bum rush the weakest link immediately. Why the ♥♥♥♥ can tanks not keep aggro whatsoever? I can't wait for people to come in and defend this saying how I'm not aware of surrounding etc..

3)Stealth and perception is utter ♥♥♥♥. Literally, they actually managed to make stealth NOT FUN and a chore. Never have I played rogue and was utterly bored out of my mind playing one.

4)Having health and endurance is stupid as hell. It makes it more confusing, not intiutive.

5) Accuracy. Does it even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work? Like did they even code it?! I dont think so.

6) Where is all the loot? Seriously though, why are all the weapons exactly the same. There is literally nothing to look forward to obtaining, nothing that makes you any more significantly powerful or well equipped for a situation. In BG and BGII you could get some awesome weapons that would just reem ♥♥♥♥ up the ass and made you feel like you are godly while still being challenging. In this game, it seems like all the weapons are equally crap and don't make an iota of difference on what you use.

I know I'm the minority here, and most of you guys would pay Obsidian to piss in your mouth if they offered that. $45 for a game that was 100% funded FOR THEM and the mechanincs are utterly broken. Who beta tested this game?

You guys have all been fooled because they made it look kinda like BG, but secret was its skin deep. It left out the most important part which is combat. I'm sorry, but combat is UTTERLY broken in this game and if you refute that you are just lying to yourself.

This game is fanservice for the guys who actually loved the iniinity engine combat back then (I found it clunky and a game of getting good at cheesing mechanics). I myself also made the mistake of buying it - the game is clearly not for me. The parallels are so striking that where in BG1 Sarevok was introduced almost a the beginning how there is evil coat man with oily hair and instead of being a child of Baal special snowflake you are a watcher special snowflake. I guess only if you are nostalgic you can truly love this - which is not a bad thing per se but limits its appeal.

You are kinda right....a little wrong, well, not wrong but misguided maybe? Yes, the game is meant to appeal to players of the infinity engine games. But this plays quite differently in many ways and has seen several improvements. This is a much more convenient game to play than the older games were. In terms of the "special snowflake" thing....that is just about every RPG ever. I think people who didnt' play the older games can easily enjoy this as long as they are willing to play something that is different from the norms of recent RPG's.

I'm not that frequent in Steam forums. How do I ignore people like the OP so I don't have to see these stupid posts?

Really? Is from this morning that I see you attacking everyone that has something to say against the game.

To the OP: I preordered, I waited release. Now I'll wait some patching or even modding ( because why not ).
In the meantime, I'll return to DOS and plan carefully my future Cipher. Give the team a bit of time. Egosoft fixed X-Rebirth. Hope never dies.

Oh, it isn't hard Alvin. Scan the post. If you see hearts all over it, you can safely ignore it. People who actually want to communicate don't talk like that.

No, I meant HOW? I don't see an ignore option anywhere. Sorry for noobness.

He meant YOU scan and ignore it with your brain....not command your computer to do it for you.

If you didn't choose Torment's Reach before level 4 for a monk, then your monk would be in lots of trouble early on.

It is a question of taste. I like isometric 2D games. Much more than 3d games. in fact I like pillar of eternity more than Dragon age inquisition, which frankly had even LESS special weapons once you eliminate the white/blue standard stuff.

Also while it is true you find a lot of standard loot, I got plenty of enhaned one, even named one. And i have not finished the temple or started the keep quests.

Really? You have 34 pages of forum posts and post about 5-6 times an hour. Jobs don't get themselves.
My monk is the leading damage dealer for my party. Hits hard, hits fast. Sure, you walk the tightrope in terms of endurance, but that's the give-n-take. You're a melee glass cannon.

Fantastic game.

Sure, Divinity:OS was more innovative, but to say PoE is only good if you're wearing nostalgia-glasses is BS.
Best game i've played in years and years and years. Reminds me of the good 'ol days (said to annoy the kiddies)

awesome

and i dont use that word lightly!

Couldn't find a single bug so far, but the pathfinding really is crap. But the game is awesome overall, great game. Can't say anything about the Monk, but hell, the monks were always broken in all rpgs, lol, in dnd I bet they could crack a planet with their fists if they wanted.

Your name is Alvin the Elf. Virgin nerd confirmed.
No I think the game trusts the player. That's all. Same happend in divinity original sin. But PE is more like it's spiritual predecessors. I m liking PE a bit more for the lore and it's pure gritty fantasy atmosphere
