This game is between BG1 and 2 in pure size. However it should be noted that world "size" has nothing to do with quality, or even the length, of content inside that world.
There is reason why Ascaron, developers behind the game, went bankrupt. Sacred 2 was a failure.

The map does not show everything in the beginning and Sacred 2 is not an rpg/in the same genre as this game.
