Camera controls
I want to either fully control the camera or make the camera smoothly follow the character (So that the character is always in the very middle of the screen no matter what). But it seems that the game provides neither of these two options. Instead it moves the camera periodically on it's own in a jagged manner. I checked the settings but it seems there is no option to disable this abrupt autoscroll that the game provides.
Am I missing something? Am I the only one who is bothered by this?

You're not the only one. It was driving me crazy.

You can move the camera by holding down hte middle mouse button.

Hope that helps.

I guess I never really noticed because I always pan then move.

What do you mean, it moves the camera on its own? It only moves when I use the arrow keys or edge scrolling. You can also double tap 1-6 to center it on that character.

I changed the key bindings for the camera to "wasd" and put the corosponding commands that I replaced on my arrow keys. So now I move my camera with wasd and change character with my left/right arrow keys.

It does a little. But the game still moves the camera at the same time as I'm trying to.

It may decide to move the camera automaticly after you issue a move command. I haven't picked up on the exact logic yet. It will try to center the camera on your characters even if you are holding arrow keys, trying to look elsewhere.

I have created a patch to change the camera behavior[drive.google.com]. The camera will automatically slowly follow the move of your party. This new behavior can be activated / deactivated using the scroll lock key.

In your game installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\Managed) :
- Download the file Assembly-CSharp.dll.patched from the link above
- Rename the original Assembly-CSharp.dll into Assembly-CSharp.dll.original
- Copy Assembly-CSharp.dll.patched to Assembly-CSharp.dll

Unfortunately, this file causes an error in the current version of the game. Is there a chance to get an active fix? I have a beer as reward %)
