Why can't I switch language from German to English?

I mean I can switch in the preferences (right click on the game in your games list etc.), and switch to English but it still starts in German?

So the written stuff is in german, but the audio itself is in english... Hope they fix it soon and let us just play in English (should be an easy patch, it's basically just the wrong files with dialog-text), because it's kind of an weird mixup.

I wouldn't mind to play a good translation in German, but since the voice-over is in English that's extremely disturbing. And I don't want to miss the voice-over because I like it.

I feel triggered and deeply violated. The moment the game started in German I heard Goebbels shout in my head again.

Coin is right! You can just change the text language in the ingame-settings (under "Game" - "Language"). It's just weird preconfigured settings then... but oh well, no more Goebbels :D

Oh, thank you very much Taedalus. I just didn't notice this option.
P.S.: This Goebbels stuff is BS of course. I just don't like to mix the languages.

The german translation is really poor, they talk so much nonsene..

And some translations for stats don't make sense context-wise. Like "Fortitude" for example. If you google translate Fortitude you get "Tapferkeit" or "Standhaftigkeit" depening on the context. "Tapferkeit" means bravery while "Standhaftigkeit" means actual fortitude. Ofcourse they picked the wrong word and went with "Tapferkeit".

The translations team used Google-Translator(period), and on words with multiple meanings they rolled a dice to determine which one fits. This is a core attribute in the game. Imagine how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up minor things are.

I played it for exactly 60min. now and I am VERY confused by the dialogue so far.

My english is not 100% perfect but I rather look up some words than read a google-translation.

Any german native speaker will tell you that the translation is bad and misleading.

This is (sadly) nothing new. Almost all video game translation is very poor.

Well, the german wording is actually quite good. But the translators probably just got the text and didn't know about the according situation - so they were forced to chose a word and hope it would match ...
