How do you split items in inventory?

Hi just bought the game on the summer sale (great game btw!) and I can't seem to figure out how to break up stacks of items. Like say I have 4 regeneration potions in a stack and I want to give one to each party member, how do I split them up?

Do a fast double click on the stack and it will give you a small screen to select the split.

Or, you can click once on the stack as if you were to move it around and then right click on empty inventory slot.
