Kickstarter Backer Achievement Blocking 100% Completion

After playing for way too much time, I am finally at 30/31 achievements. Unfortunately, I am blocked from 100% completion by an unachievable Kickstarter backer achievement. This is not the end of the world, but it is slightly annoying and IMHO bad achievement design. Please add a way to unlock it. I would be willing to purchase a $20.00 (or even $50.00) DLC that only unlocked this achievement if it was available (Note: I realize that I could buy a key off of eBay for $50.00, but I would rather support the company directly).

I understand that you are constrained by promises you made in the campaign that the achievement would be "Kickstarter Only." That being said, I believe most Kickstarter supporters would forgive you if you added a DLC option to get the achievement. After all, I preordered this game as soon as I saw it on Steam and paid much more than the lowest level Kickstarter backer. I would be happy to support future games by donating if you give me the opportunity.

If nothing else, please allow me to unlock the achievement by participating in a future obsidian kickstarter campaign.

P.S. There really should be achievements for doing the following:

• Finishing all companion quests.
  
• Aligning with the three factions across multiple play-throughs.
  
• Completing 95% or so of the side-quests in a single play-through.

These achievements seem glaringly absent.

I also think there shouldn't be an achievement for being a backer, at least not the way Steam does achievements. It would be okay if Steam had something like feats of strength like WoW does, which are separate from achievements, thus not preventing people from being able to achieve a "100% state".

The Kickstarter campaign listed "Unique Kickstarter Backer Achievement" as something people would get for putting up the money up front to help the game get made.

If they turned around now and gave it to other people it would be total bull*hit.

It won't happen.

wow was just going to ask about this.

Just got a PC and steam account and been looking at games I've wanted to play for a while now... This was high on the list until I saw this achievement and now I know it will block 100% I cannot honestly but it. Its a real shame. If they fix it or make it a bonus achievement that does not count towards the 100% somehow then sure Ill buy it but until then I cannot support you obsidian sorry. This sucks, was one of the main games I was really looking forward to playing, and wil the backers deserve recognition like this I don't think many would agree that blocking other players completion is a nice way to do it.

They could have made it an ingame achievement. Rewarding backers is a fine thing. Screwing all other customers over by not letting them complete a standard Steam thing is just stupid.

Personally i dont have a problem with backers getting this extra thing...i mean without the backers this wouldnt have been possible to begin with and now people want Obsidian to go back on their word that probarly helped to get their support.....personally i hate it when i pay money and for doing that im supposed to get exclusive content but then later companies make it available for eveyone.....personally i didnt know bout the whole POE backer startup till it was to late but i aint gonna go and try to take away from the backers what was part of a reward for their support.

I've got the kickstart achievement, but i really think that they should take it out of the 100% complition. Those who kickstarted it have something "special" and those who didn't have the chance to kickstart it but really want to have a 100% in the profile will be severd. Win-win i guess

Yeah, they have promised themselves into a lose/lose situation. They could, however, open up the achievement to future Obsidian Kickstarter backers and wouldn't be breaking their promise.

Backing a future project to get an achievement in an earlier game?

I like this game and I love Obsidian for having done this project. That's why I backed it myself back in the day.

But this achievement thing is just wrong.

Agreed. There are better ways to reward backers. This way they have actively removed the ability from non-backers to get 100% achievement completion, a basic feature not only of the Steam platform but of modern gaming in general.

I got a bit angry when I saw this achievement, you cannot have achievements that are impossible to get when you buy the game :( I tried to be a backer on kickstarter but failed since I had problems with my paypal account. Hunting achievements are fun, but if I cannot get all, I will try to not care about them. Really dissapointing.

also, did they inform non-backers corretly about not being able to complete the achievements? Don't think so.

I will not be buying this game for myself, because they have an achievement attached to a condition that I am unable to meet, no matter what I do after buying the game. I really like Obsidian, and I feel that backers should get rewards for backing the game early. I don't feel that they should punish non-backers by not allowing them to get 100% completion on the game.
