I would also be interested to find similar games. I can only think of Shadowrun series - mixed with sci-fi but they have a similarly dark feel. Also you've probable played, but Witcher series too has a cool dark fantasy setting, even though the gameplay is very different.

Some people will immediately bring up Divinity Original Sin, but I disagree. Yeah, it's a cRPG, yeah it may seem similar at first look. But if the thing you love about PoE is consistent writing and atmosphere (specifically grim fantasy), then it may dissapoint.
I know I'm in a minority with this opinion, since seemingly everybody loves those games. I did like the whole Divinity series too - up until DoS2, which completely went off the rails with it's cartoony feel and very inconsistent writing and atmosphere throughout the game world, also the combat became too damn convoluted in that game.
Consider looking into Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, though an enhanced edition is coming out in Sept. not sure if you would prefer to wait for that then. If you buy it now it's a free upgrade, and it shouldn't cost more if you wait.

Well there's the sequel, Deadfire of course.
And PoE was heavily inspired by Baldur's Gate 1&2 if you haven't played those yet.

But the two Pathfinder games would probably be the closest otherwise.

Tyranny is great. Especially at that sale price.

Definitely Tyranny. That price is a bloody steal.
As a side-note, Tyranny without the B-a-stard's Wound DLC feels much more incomplete.

Pathfinder games, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, Sword Coast Legends, Dragon Age Origins, Ember, Drakensang, Tyranny, Black Geyser:Couriers of Darkness, Serpent in the Staglands . These are all fantasy games that use real time with pause combat some are 3d others are 2d. If you like SiFy you might like Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2.

Depends on if you are looking for a Game similar to Pillars of Eternity, Story-wise; Gameplay-wise or both?

Hmmm, I still need to return to that as a slacker backer of that project. When I had a look during early-access, it was not even close to Pillars of Eternity or gameplay in the BG/IWD games due to dubious, inflated, overly convoluted rules. It featured a couple of nice events in the area of scripted story-telling and voice-acting, too, but it seemed to me the small team of developers have shot into their feet with those rules they've created. They simply create too many issue with regard to character progression and enemy progression throughout the course of the game.

That's IMHO, of course, and not authoritative.

Been holding off buying BW DLC until I start Tyranny, problem is the price of this DLC costs more than say Kingmaker for a full game.
