If you have high enough mechanics you can pick the door directly.
If you have neither then you will need to explore the area and fight some tough groups of Skuldrs (path of the damned).
Chances are that your party is too low level to actually bypass puzzle so you will probably have to do some exploring and fighting. Skullr's do a lot of damage and their king has a decent amoutnt of endurance that you will have to whittle down so taking them head on is suicide. Luckily you should have plenty of doorways in the area to do some crowd control. Before engaging its best to sneak your party into position, place two of your fighters just outside the doorway blocking entry, have durance cast a sign trap in beween the entryway (it doesn't matter if your characters stand on it) and your warriors. Then equip a bow and shoot to attract the enarest visible enemy with your warrior.
If things go as planned, the entrance will be blocked off by your warriors to keep your ranged casters safe at a distance to rain down hell. The porne bodies from the trap will also bottleneck most of the enemie packs on the other side. Have your warriors imbibe any potions or cast buffs and set them to work on the fallen bodies. Have your mages start peppering the area just past the entry way with spells and all offensive attacks. Make sure you keep an eye on your warriors and heal them with durance. Cast more sign traps/buffs and any offesnive spells as needed, for all intents and purposes, treat every fight agaisnt a large pack of skuldr (with a king) as a boss battle. Having best slaying ability on your weapons helps.
If anyone memebr in your party has a high enough preception the secrests will generally be acessible.
Really, perception? I thought it was mechanics, did I miss something?
OK, I will have to check that out, I don't believe that anyone would have had higher perception during the first playthrough, I was using a straight fighter and had the first two guys you pick up.
Edit: The hardest thing is the spectres, but I found ganging up on one at a time summoning my own phantom and doing a bit of baiting/kiteing made it possible.
