Soul bind weapons: Greenstone staff. how to level up this weapon?

Now staff is on its level 2 (i do 625 dmg with it). To unlock 2nd level of this staff i need to KILL with it 5 blightes OR 25 creatures. the problem is that i killed with this staff some creatures but death count doesnot move on. it stands still. Who should i kill with this staff to level it up?\

unequip and re-equip it ...you will need to do this with any soulbound weapon. known bug.

unequip\re-equip doesn't seems to work with spellbound huntig bow :(

unequip\re-equip doesn't seems to work for this greenstone staff too.
maybe ogres in whispers-in-bla-bla-bla cave doesnot count for enemies?
