Diablo 3 or PoE
I want to buy neither diablo 3 with expansion or PoE with the white march. Many people say this is a master piece and everything but i am thinking in buying diablo 3 because i not really attracted to the combat system, flow of the game, the look of the game (MY PERSONAL OPINION) but people just say this game is amazing, I cant afford both so I want people who love this game why I should love it too (not in a gay way of course, because that may... be weird).:steamhappy:

It sounds like you would prefer Diablo. Why are you looking for us to talk you out of buying it?

If you want a story heavy (as in, really heavy) game, in a "serious" setting, and squad based combat, go PoE (pillar of eternity not path of exile, in case someone pop and get it wrong).
If you want to bash tons of mobs with one hand, go Diablo.

Basically, Diablo is all about action, while PoE is about story. A lot of the game involves combat, but it's more a tactical combat, and you'll still have a lot of conversations.

Fallout were always light on text. And FO4 can barely be called a RPG. Not only that, but since FO3 they are voiced and all. PoE is mostly text. PoE is a Bioware game in the extreme.

To make it simple, imagine a book were you have a choice of option/answers, and you can play all the fighting scenes. Like you read the Lords of the Ring, but play the Minas Tirith battle, then get back to read what comes afterward.
Check some let's play on youtube.

It's not all talk no action stuff like a puzzle game. But it's almost the opposite of CoD.

"in a gay way" ?
if you like Diablo 3 is because you aren't really a real RPG gamer but you prefer simple "noob friendly" games. PIllars is a masterpiece and you can enjoy it only if you are a true RPG gamer who enjoys old school style. Don't buy PIllars cause it will be too much frustrating and hard for you to comprehend or enjoy. This is a game of Role Play and if you don't know or like to Role Play don't waste money on it.

Best Regards

Since you don't have any hard core cRPG games in the classic style it's impossible to say if you would like PoE or not. It's quite possible you'd love it, but it's at least as possible you'd hate it. Since you can't afford both games buying PoE would be a risk.

However PoE *is* a great game, a top drawer example of the isometric party based RPG genre, which is a classic tried and tested video game format. Should you decide that you wanted to try out this genre to see if you liked it, and that's probably a sensible thing to do since having more types of game you enjoy just means more good options to play down the line, then PoE would be an excellent choice as would Divinity Original Sin. DOS doesn't take itself as seriously as PoE so if you like zany stuff you might like DOS better.

This game is garbage, man. Diablo 3 is the easy choice.

pillars of eternity is not path of exile ;)

This game requires commitment and time, diablo requires smashing your keyboard. Since you enjoy game likes COD and FallOut... I'd recommend you to stick to diablo. Perhaps try this game over with a friend or via youtube videos. But my guess is this is not your type of game.
Hope this helps in the administration of your money.

This game isn't even that good to be honest, it's mostly boring, diablo 3 is even worse tho I wouldn't get either to be honest.

Diablo 3 is complete garbage and that dev team is clueless. If you really need a Diablo/Action game fix, play D2. Far superior, still has an online community, moddable.

With that out of the way, Pillars is nothing like Diablo. Story heavy, lots of reading, lots of roleplaying opportunities. Pillars is not primarily an action game like the Diablo series.

These two games are completely different...

Diablo 3 is a pure electronic heroin. I started playing the game when it released 2012, played softcore & hardcore, before RoS and after, spent a lot of time & money ( on the RMAH ), got 3 accounts... Fortunately at last my hatred for Diablo 3 became above my addiction. Hope I said Diablo 3 the last goodbye. This game has no story, no soul, no sense, no end. It's job for robots. It's "a squirrel in a wheel" stuff. My advise - never start it.

PoE is a good old RPG, not a great masterpiece but really really nice in every component. A perfectly restored world of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

Of course its a job for robots if you play it as a robot. Noone forced you to dump all your time and money into a game, it's no wonder you're so burnt out now.
I enjoy a bit of diablo 3 every now and then, but its games like Wasteland 2 \ NWN \ Dragon Age 1 that cause my gamerections. Still fishing for a 75% off on PoE, though, such cheapskate as I am, but I'm getting a feeling it's gonna be good.
BALONEYPWNY Nov 26, 2015 @ 4:26pm
"if" you play it as a robot? I would argue that there's really no other way to approach that game. Grind to 70, grind your end-game gear, grind paragon points, then fish and fish and fish some more for the perfect Greater Rift layout. It's no coincedence that botting is such an epidemic with that game.

I say that well aware that Diablo 2 has a similar bot problem but that game is just far superior in nearly every respect. 8 player max, actual PvP, trading, vastly superior itemization. That's why I recommended it over D3.
