Can't load saves

So I went back to POE after a week without playing, and my "continue" and "load save" buttons were grayed out. I have run into this once before and I fixed it by opening up the save folder in users, and that seemed to (for whatever reason, I dunno) make POE find them again. This time, though, I did that again and it brought back the buttons, but now when I try to load my save it crashes the game.

I can't find any good solutions for this online, and I'm pretty frustrated. I tried running it as an administrator, and I read somewhere I should delete the "loadedsaves.zip" file from a temp folder but I can't seem to find it.

I'm 17 hours in and really don't want to restart. Anyone got any tips?

After restarting the game twice I could load my savegame. Annoying :/

Yeah, I ended up restarting my computer and the game a bunch of times and it eventually found them again and stopped crashing. No rhyme or reason to it, very irritating.

It could be much more productive to visit the official tech support forum and either search it for an existing topic about such a problem or report it yourself:
