Character Selection Voices

When I click the voice in character selection, it doesn't say anything. Is this a new bug, or is it just for me? Or am I missing a button?

Only a temporary bug, sorry. It really didn't work, but when I restarted, it has been fixed. I'm on Linux by the way. Sorry for disturbing.

I have the same problem.
Maybe restarting, as you did, will fix the problem.
This is not an ideal solution though, the developers should look into this.
Now I'm mostly done with the character creation but I have to restart.

4 years later, this bug still exists, and can still be worked around via restarting.

Which could indicate that the developers have been unable to track down the culprit or that it's to be found outside the game in the Unity engine. I'm replaying PoE currently, too, and have never had that issue since day of release. The only audio issue I'm still facing sometimes is the 1-2 words missing at the beginning of voice-over.
