Is this the game!?
This game is like one of those series that everyone talks about, you try it and think it's bad and you're left with that (it will improve in such and such an episode, in this case in such and such Act... and it doesn't improve).

4 hours of gameplay, act 2 finished, I went to find out on the wiki how many acts there are and discovered that there are 3+epilogue, the game so far has only made me sleepy and nothing more, and there are still people who think it can be compared with other CRPGs on the market, disappointment.

It wasn't for you and that's fine, but there's no need to post here about it. No one cares.

Nice troll, either you are lying or you just rushed the game on the easiest difficulty without doing any side content or reading the texts

something else happened did you get stuck on an encounter? iv never seen someone with 2 vac bans to be straight forward individuals.to also lash out on the forum is another sign of a sudden negative impulse, something more is afoot since poe has great music and ambiance. each class is unique from a leveling experience each getting class specific choices per level. youd have to be nuts not look forward to levels unless you googled everything in advance. whats your rwtp game experience or crpg? like pathfinder wraith of righteous or what

You've gotten further than I have... had this game for years and never played it (played BG1 and 2 20+ years ago and loved em), finally got around to playing PoE1 the last week and yeah... its a little eh.

It looks like BG1&2, it feels kinda like em, but just doesnt grip like they did. It feels to much like its trying to be them without doing enough like them and but not enough not like them, and what they do differently just feels more complicated than it needs to be with little real explanation on it.

The thing that annoys me the most is on a single map you can have fights and situations that are to hard for the time you kinda arrive at them... sure come back latter to do them you'd say, but thats after reloading a save a couple of times to realise the fights one for latter, which means im constantly saving the game just in case a fight I run into becomes a 'nope try again latter you shouldnt be here since we gave you no indication you're coming up to something way to hard for you now' one and i find i have to go back 10 minutes or more because I didnt save after the last couple of fights or im doing ok with fights then suddenly it throws a room with just one to many enemies of the type ive already been fighting fine and it becomes a wipe/reload/try again rince repeat find I cant do it and quit situation... oh and most fights mean nothing since they dont really give XP, making avoiding fights preferable to engaging.

Its a fine game, its just got some major core issues that really do make some of us sigh and hit esc.

I played BD1, icewind, planet scape, arcanum, fallout 1,2, tactics, ultima, among other unknown ones when I was younger, as I already played it I don't have the need to keep replaying it until today, as I didn't know the game I tried a new experience , and I didn't like it one bit, the game doesn't bring any feeling of reward. Totally monotonous, the notes and texts for the most part you can simply ignore as it doesn't make any difference when talking to the NPC's, the combat is bad, the NPCs stack one after the other and don't attack correctly, you need to keep trying to fix the entire combat, differently of BD that did something better years ago, I could mention the poor graphics for 2015 among other things, there's simply no way I can defend anything in this game, I believe it's too much of a comment simply because it's from Obisidian and they end up not looking at it the defects are numerous. The fallout I like the most is New Vegas and that doesn't mean I'm going to defend everything that comes from the company just because they made an incredible game, for me the game is meh and that's all it is.

I played on the third normal difficulty, and even if I had played on the initial one, what would change? The game would remain the same, the texts would be boring, the bad combat would remain the same, only the damage and RNG would change... what you said doesn't change its problems at all.

If you didn't care, you wouldn't have come here and spent your time commenting, right?

You mentioned several other problems that I didn't mention, I'm only going to finish the game because I feel like money was wasted on something bad and I can't ask for a refund anymore.

4 hours of gameplay, act 2 finished,
Doesn't sound credible.

Perhaps you mean Act 1, since only "4 hours" to finish Act 2 is hard to believe. It could mean you've chosen story time difficulty and have rushed through the main quest, not showing any interest in CRPG based exploration and role-playing.

Also, early in Act 2 you would learn about The White March, because the two expansions are integrated into the base game and modify it in various ways. As such, Act 2 is ideal for doing some bits in The White March, travelling forth and back between expansion and base game.

There are four acts. Act 3 (based around the village of Twin Elms) contains quite some optional opportunities. Act 4 is the shortest and not an epilogue, but endgame content beyond an explicit point of no return - meaning you cannot return to the rest of the virtual world (and not to the expansions either).

Uh? It can also be compared with games of a different genre, but that wouldn't make much sense, would it? Among CRPGs it is a true gem. Yet you don't seem to be interested in CRPGs. Particularly Baldur's Gate (Enhanced Edition) offers high potential for a playthrough every few years.

I chose difficulty 3, and compared to all the others I mentioned above that I've played and finished, it's well below average. That's why there's no way to compare it, it's a title below games that were made many years ago with worse graphics dated at the time. I can replay all of the ones I mentioned above without any problems, as I said before, I'm going to finish act 3 just so I don't continue to feel like money wasted. If I wasn't interested in CRPGS, I wouldn't play tabletop RPGs with my friends to this day, much less any of the ones I mentioned above for years before I had a Steam account... if I bought it it was because obviously I like the genre and I thought I would have an average experience at best, but I was wrong. But I understand your taste and your desire to defend something and also not wanting to hear people say bad things about your game because in your mind it's good.

your only reasoning being you are bored, seems a bit silly to me. this game really is a banger you either used cheats/console commands or are doing somthing to ruin your experience.

It's just really boring and monotonous and the bad combat is the icing on the cake, "doing something to ruin your experience", like the AI stacking up around the same enemy and not being able to attack? It's really annoying, having to keep removing characters from close range to release the attack, not having a turn based option only makes the situation worse, because you depend on it, and the combat is reduced to that. When a 1998 BD1 game already had the same mechanics with different mobs to battle and didn't have this problem, it's simply fluid.

This game is really bad, I completely agree with what you said, 2 is even worse with the ship mechanics, Tried to be what Baldurs Gate was, failed, very far indeed. If I were you, I would ask for a refund on 2 if you bought it, you'll regret playing it, there are better things like BD3 that's out now, and pathfinder, they're superior, PoE and Tyranny are a shame, it's a collective hysteria because fans of obisidian are just like Bethesda fans, it could be whatever crap they say is good.

Bg 1 and 2 ai was so bad that poe 1 didn't even include an ai when they made the game because everyone that played those games knew to not use ai

Poe 2 has a turn based mode
