This IS True: Loot Based on Day of the Month
[Old]I saw someone saying that the loot you get in the game is actually based on the day of the month in-game. Some really good/important loot only show up on a specific day, and it is possible to skip some bad loot, come back later on said specific day to get the good loot.

[Edit]: I can confirm this IS 100% true. For example: "Rymrgand's Mantle" (cloak, bonus Freeze DR + 20% Freeze damage received turn to Endurance) which can be found in the second floor guest room in the Black Hound inn on the 20th day of a month. Most people get this the first time they arrived in Gilded Vale because you are supposed to arrive there on the 20th day of the month. If you skip this and return on other days it would just be scrolls/potions. If you return exactly one month later on the same day, you would find it again.

Another example: Lord Raedric's Castle can give you 3 gloves that grant +5 ACC. One shows up in the Chapel on the 9th day, two show up in the Main Hall on the 5th day.

There are many more "unique" or "really powerful" items in various places that only show up on certain days. I don't have a full list yet but it's coming

Is this ture? If so what/where are the important loots you can get? Which day of the month would they show up?

This is NOT true.

Like, at all.

I can confirm this is true. I have save/load many times in different places with different chests. You get different loots on different days, and the same loot on the same day next month. Once you have checked a loot place though, the loot in there will not change anymore.

If you don't believe me just test it out yourself. I have edited my post to give people some examples.

This sounds less like loot that's specific to certain days and more like loot where the when and what are randomized.

If there was a strict system to all this I would fully expect it to be detailed in the official Wiki but it's not so I have to assume you've only just discovered the pattern that governs this randomization and nothing more.

EDIT: As per my guess, I did my own digging and found out that non-unique loot is generated randomly (uniques are hand placed).

Resting 3 times resets the seed it seems if you wanna get a different roll.

But yeah. there's no loot specific to days of the month or anything. All of it has ever only boiled down to people discovering how to manipulate the randomization in their favor.

Or at the very least what could be described as "random" (since who the hell wants to rest 8 billion times to get better stats on a ring or something? Not this guy lol)

https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/34dnv5/when_is_random_loot_generated/

And here's this if you wanna save yourself some trouble.

Yeah this sounds more like a coincidence than anything else. I suggest trying this out on new characters as well.

Nice necro. Truth be told I bought this on sale and never touched it after learning this.

So the reality is that the story ends with you having given Obsidan money for a product you didn't play for a reason that is fairly trivial.
