This is hugely disappointing. After fighting my way through all of Durgan's Battery I find out HALF of all the the ingots in the Battery (8 of 16) are in a single location and are inaccessible without a character with at least 10 mechanics. Well Eder has 8, so I tried to use a Rite of Hidden Wonders scroll but it seems to be bugged - twice now when I've placed it a character's quick slot it's disappeared, only to reappear in inventory later. So I bit the bullet and humped it all the way back to Caed Nua to rest and get the +2 mechanics bonus, then all the way BACK to the battery to get the ingots. Except now WM2 has started and the mines are no longer accessible!
I feel cheated.
Extremely poor design decision on Obsidian's part. If you go through all the trouble of restarting the White Forge you're reward shouldn't be cut in half due the imposition of an arbitrary skill check!
Here's the Wiki page, btw:

Nah. Over the years, those games have suffered from hundreds to thousands of unfixed bugs. Then the enhanced edition fix many, but also introduced new ones and caused regression, too.
