save game missing

White March 2 loaded but is forcing me to start a whole new game with a level 1 character. No options to contnue the game? Did the add on delete my character? Has this happened anywhere else? I have not deleted or changed directories. I finished part one just last week so it should still have a save gane slot.
Please help I do not want to start all over

It sometimes happens to me. Leaving the game and starting it anew cures the problem.

Tried that a dozen times, nothing, looked for save game data in my SaveGames Directory, it is gone. Was there before patch

I restarted steam and my saves were back. For now at least.

Just saved and quit the game because i got some visual buggs. Restarted it and... NO SAVES! *facepalm*

I had lost my lvl 11 paladin with a good portion of White March part 2 completed. It is very, very sad.
Do Obsidian realy expect me to start over? Not anytime soon. GG.

Oh, so it seems PoE is known for randomly erasing save data from the very day of it's release. And Obsidian still had not fixed it or even tried to do that. And you want people to play your game, knowing that they can loose all their progress any time the game decides to bugg?

It is a real mystery what fixes went into this 3.00.0967 release after tons of problems had been reported for the 3.0 beta releases. Reading all this topics and the official forum, too, it seems to me they didn't include enough fixes. What a poor decision.

I have had the same issue and it was driving me nuts, but I just figured it out!
All the save files are under "My Documents/My Games/Pillars of Eternity" (that's where they had been originally created by the game and worked well in the past - and then dissappeared from the game menu last week as described by OP) but I just realized that a new folder has popped up in my username folder called "Save Games" which contains another folder called Pillars of Eternity but is suspeciously empty. Anyway I copied my save games from the old place to the new one - eh voila - I can load them again.

I can only speculate that devs decided on the new folder for some reason and the game files where supposed to be migrated automatically, but somehow didn't.
Anyway, see if that's the case, if so copy your save files there and you should be good to go.

The folder has been C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity\ for many of us since release 1.00.

I found the save files folder, it has some files, but it seems game does not want to recognise them as a current version saves. Even though i had already played White March part 2.
