With regard to the expansion, tell a bit more. Perhaps show a screenshot of your quest journal screen and the world map. You learn about the expansion areas around level 4-5 through a letter sent to you via Caed Nua's stewart. Theoretically, you can visit two different expansion areas at that time: The village of Stalwart and Crägholdt. The former is where the story of the expansion starts, and depending on chosen difficulty mode, it is a better idea to go there around level 6-8. The latter is a combat heavy high-level bonus area.
Good to know there is no time pressure (kinda silly though, but good!)
I can travel to Cragholdt - but NOT get thru it: that is the place where there are 2 EXTREMELY TOUGH soldiers from the "Torn Bannermen" , and they kept getting healed somehow, and I could NOT kill them
I can see White Marsh on map, but clicking on it just gives me the flashing arrows on edge of screen that indicate a location I can't get to. I have Durgan's Battery quest
So, I am guessing that I need to get thru Craighold to get to Stalwart Village??
No. Crägholdt as per the Crägholdt Bluffs quest is some combat heavy high-level bonus content.
Check your level. I was not able to get through there until my party was around level 12-13 (I'm a role-player, not a power-gamer, so I'm not looking for the ultimate build. I'm playing a role. My rep scores are much more important to me), and then I was resting every 2 encounters, or after each, in some cases. I couldn't kill the lich, but I didn't try that hard. I decided to go do other things, then come back.
