Report a translation problem
Would you say Deadfire would be more enjoyable with a character who knows what she’s doing on those ships? Or someone who feels like a fish out of water?
Of course the default assumption is that the character is new to sailing. I think that a history at sea is not very common in players' minds. But I don't think it's called out, and also people will constantly refer to her as "captain" so that might fit into the fantasy.
At the end of the day the game isn't going to accommodate your history perfectly. For example, when playing as a Priest of Eothas the game will still give you "Who is Eothas?" prompts
