Adra Animat in Level 7 of the ruins
I think I goofed up the spelling.... Anyway, has anybody won this battle? I'm level 8, and they're still making quick work of me. I'm utilizing potions of power, major enduance regenerations, etc. I have my Paladin, Eder, Aloth, Durance, Graylord, and Kana.. Any tips or do I still need a few more levels? I thought I had it for a second and then they seemed to regenerate and proceeded to drain me. I have a suspicion I need to kill Adra first and the rest become infinitely easier. Thanks!

You need more levels, definitely.

I myself had used doorways to block them and stunlocked them till they died. They are awful otherwise.

Hug the left wall, like to the left of the spirit thats telling you to turn back or whatever. It will only agro the group on that side, kill them then save before going over for the rest.

I tried pulling down into that room when I was lvl 8 and died over and over, came back at 9 and did it the other way. Still took few trys.

btw who is Graylord?

Or first clear out every other room in that level. Southeast of the Adra Animat's room, there's a skinny room with a perfect width-1 doorway that you can easily defend. Set up the usual chokepoint trap in that room. This is mildly exciting because you're trapping your party in a dead end, but that doesn't matter if you win.

Send out the usual 1 stealthed shooter to aggro 1 perimeter flyer (usually a Blight or Phantom), then lure the fast flyers to the doorway. Since all monsters in that room must walk or fly due "south" to line up with the doorway and then turn left 90 degrees to attack you, they won't have line-of-fire to any of your shooters. Stack your AoE DoTs just outside the doorway. You can crush their vanguard and take almost zero damage.

A few of the monsters, including the Adra Animat itself, won't even wake up, so they'll stay out of the 1st big fight. You can let combat end and then hunt them down as a separate fight, or use Kana's 2nd batch of Skeletons as free fodder to extend the 1st fight all the way into their faces.

Never fight a major PoE1 combat out in the open, when you're badly outnumbered and could get flanked. Always look for terrain and chokepoints to nerf their advantages.
Endless Paths of Od Nua floor 7 - isn't that the one where retrieving the four prisms and disabling the four machines reduces the number of enemies before the exit door?

If you gain one more level Kana gets a song that deals heavy AoE damage to every enemy around him, and this spell will demolish anamats. Equip him with a one handed weapon, no shield, and accuracy gloves if you have them. One more level will make short work of the encounter.

I dont think thats true. If your talking about the level with the elemental blights. There is a receptacle in the middle of the group of enemies I think. I lost a character in that room in an ironman run after placing the prisms in the 4 rooms. Its the hardest fight in the game pre expansion. If there is a way to reduce them then theres more to it than just placing the prisms in the 4 rooms.

The Wiki also hints that disabling the machines removes Greater Blights:

Oh, I didnt have greater blights. The issue in that fight is the adragons. Its still very difficult without the blights. But they should die fast if you can keep a level 9 chanter from being petrified.

I'd still like to know who Graylord is.

Knowing that it is not a character from PoE, it could be anything like a hired adventurer, a translation mistake, memory failing to serve, confusing the name of other characters like Hiravias or Grieving Mother with a character not from PoE - whatever.
