Soundtrack
I just finished Raedric's keep area, and I have to say, I am finding the soundtrack very disappointing. Melancholy rather than heroic or sinister. I really liked the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale soundtracks but this game is tempting me to turn off the music completely and put on some fantasy soundtracks or Dead Can Dance, Arcana or something medieval sounding like Istanpitta. Melancholy music was a damper on Arcanum I thought, and here it is even worse. Does the music get more heroic later on? I can't imagine why Raedric's Keep has a melancholy score.

I haven't gotten to Twin Elms yet, but so far no. The music is a bit weak in this game.

Arguing about tastes is pointless but it needs to be said that Arcanum had one of the best soundtracks in videogaming ever.

The soundtrack is indeed disappointing. And particularly in battles it gets on my nerves. Too little variety, and too short so it repeats itself too quickly. Meh!

Wait, did someone just complained about Arcanum OST? And said that BG's sountrack was good?
Man, I give up on humanity, it's lost, so completely and utterly lost.

Oh I love them too.

When I think of dwarven mines, flame elementals, stone golems, Elven tree cities, dark elves, ogres, lost technological cities of the ancients, spells, pirate ships, orc tribes etc. the music that comes to mind is not "string quartet". That is ok if you are walking around Tarant, a Victorian city. For almost everything else, it is terrible.

Arcanum is the one RPG where I quickly end up turning off the soundtrack and supplying my own music instead.

PoE has one of the best soundtracks I've experienced in a while. The main menu theme is especially moving. The music has healing qualities, which is all I could ever ask for from music.

When I listen to PoE soundtrack I feel at home. It's truly not epic, but it feels like a story told by a fireplace. It's really cozy and I love it.

I still think the Icewind Dale soundtrack set the bar pretty high. I've yet to hear something as good as Jeremy Soule's work on that title.
