Luminescent Caves [Bug?]

I've been in the cave for awhile now, spoke to the trapped creature, he told me where the key is but when I go in the room (Scouting mode or not) and to the object I know it's in, nothing happens.

First off I thought it was an issue with my mechanics skill so I activated cheats and boosted it, still no joy, it's rather irritating since there doesn't appear to be any other way to finish this quest.

Any tips?

Attempted : Leaving cave, returning, switching members, reloading saves.

That's a little bit vague. You refer to the Vithrack Crystal? Have you found it yet south-west?

Oh sorry, by the key I mean the Crystal to open the common house area, it's on the third pillar from the door to the Vithrack nests according to guides/The Vithrack in holding cells, but I can't detect it

Same issue here. I have a team member with a Mechanic score of 15 and am still unable to detect the hidden object.
